sound is the experience we have when we hear. Sound waves are what reach our ears. If no ONE is around to hear it, no one can experience the sound. Sound is pressure changes in the air or other medium. Some one is needed, for those changes in air pressure to become vibrations in our ears which become sound.
There is no answer to this question. Its debated everyday. We just debated this question in my Sensation and Perception class the other day. Everybody had a different perspective.

it would still make a sound, but u would not hear it. if u put like a voice recorder there or something of the sort then it would record the sound rite??

well usually but if no one sees it we can't just assume it makes a noise when it falls. So this is kind of misleading I guess...
