I have a big organization in India. We are protestant christians and convert hindus to being christians. Its not to harm anyone, but we help them realise that God and Jesus is up in the sky, in the heavens, to do the work of Jesus and make our country know that Christ is the real and true god. Here they worship idols and have concubines in the temples. This is not the work of god. Now we have 200 people in all the remote villages preaching the work of god, have built many churches and many have become so great and blessed, earning better, have happy homes and love praying to Jesus. This maybe a blind faith but now there are so many missionaries changing the people to follow Jesus. Is that not something great? I feel so happy that we have so many more children for the Lord. Its what we believe that we come out great and after helping them and making them to believe on their OWN, I have witnessed great miracles in India. I have also been blessed. Please share with me your positive views

We dont bribe anyone. We have done good and now we have changed almost 60 people in IT companies to pray to jesus. You see christians always want the hindus to be happy. We want them to change and find Jesus on their own. I can see how many hypocrites cannot take it already!!!!

I am speechless. Grass roots , huh. You are to be applauded.
I will keep you in my prayers. I put myself in your position and am awed by the possibilities and opposition you must face.

be still and allow them to see the Christ in you.

An unusual question. From a Christian standpoint, there is no such thing as an idea of an unconvertable person and certainly not the idea that ever converting someone would be a bad idea. There can be sticking points in converting someone from a polythestic relgion to a monothestic relgion. It must be explained that Christ/God is a sole deity, not two seperate gods and that GOd does not tolerate belif in other gods, meaning a person cannot worship God and other deities. There is a very active Christian Faith movement amongst the Dalit (may have spealled that wrong), who according to hinduism, are 'born from evil' and are the least and most oppressed caste.

How can you say having temples & worshipng god is not god's work. Even christians have church & ppl go to worship so isnt tht wrong? Why shud there be churches if temples r wrong? You cannot say anything & rather haveno right to say about any religion what is right or wrong.

Let me tell you one more thing for you have very little knowledge, so to add up. ......Hindu is a way of living. People are lucky to be hindu, as it comes by birth and not something you have to force people. People worship these idols bcoz in every form they believe god exists. I think this gives you some knowledge & stop doing that.

Hindus worship the same God as Christians, they just use a different name. Some Hindus could benefit from Jesus but in general Hindus are just fine being Hindus and don't need conversion. Hinduism has become patriarchal and xenophobic, just as Christianity has, but don't tell them they should become Christian, only that it could help them. Jesus and God aren't just up in the sky, they are with us always. Hare Christa

What's sad is when the Indian government makes it illegal for people to be converted, or makes it difficult for the "untouchables" in the caste system to change their religion and be free from the underside of the Hindus once and for all.

Praise God that the people of India are seeing God at work in their lives and coming to know Him through a relationship with Jesus Christ

I think this quote is appropriate:

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
- Stephen Roberts

In other words, why don't you believe in the Hindu way of doing things? Once you truly understand that then you will understand why so many people don't believe in the way you do things.

This post smells a little fishy, but let's take it at face value.

"Here they worship idols and have concubines in the temples. This is not the work of god."

i have never seen "concubines" in temple....i live in india.
worshiping idols is not against gods....its the way the hindus believe in god.

just because you believe in your religion that doesn't mean that every other religion doesn't know whats the work of god??
leave other religions alone ma'am.

and someone here said that converting to christianity is making india better??? that is so wrong.

sorry but as a citizen of this country i know more than half of the people here.

know the religion first and then talk about it.

Oh I've heard plenty about the aid for conversion tactics Christians are using, which generally targets the poorer groups and the "untouchables". You really want to do altruistic work... lobby to have the caste system torn apart and let them stay HINDU if they want.

YOU have a big organization? I think you're heaping too much praise upon yourself. Are these converts being bullied or bribed? The "concubines in the temples", is a load of rubbish. Your posting lacks credibility....EDIT...Anyone else got a childish email from M.G...or was I the chosen one?! Shame when people go off on one, when they don't get the answers they expect ?

Wow. I just read a news story that said India is banning sex education from the schools. If that was in any way your doing, congrats - you're going to succeed in killing off a billion people. What is your group doing to HELP the people in the country with the largest number of people suffering from AIDS?

I think you are wasting your time. Most of the Hindus I know are happy being Hindus. Hinduism is a very complex religion that, based on your post, you have made no effort to understand. If you can't even comprehend the culture you are trying to change, what makes you think you will succeed?

What makes you think Hindus weren't happy before you came along?
