guys, how does it make you feel when your girl contantly puts herself down and says negative things about her body-mad, sad, irritated...or something else?

Isn't that all women?
haha, ok ok all jokes aside.

Ya, I was...what's the step before dating?..."talking"?. I was talking to this one girl. She was that type you mentioned, always berating herself, such LOW self-esteem.

I would constantly tell her how great of a person she is, how pretty she is, how she always makes me smile. And I meant it, I wasn't saying it just for fun. I really liked her and I wanted her to know that I was there for her.

But she was very taken aback by my compliments and trying to get her self-esteem up. She said she never been complimented before and told me to stop. She kept saying that I deserve better.

This kept going back and forth until I just couldn't deal with it. Not to sound mean, but I have so many other things going on with my life that I can't add her problems to my own. So I stopped talking to her all together.

In summary, I really don't like it when girls are so negative about themselves. I find self-confidence very attractive. She needs to have some sort of strut, someone who believes in herself.
I understand that most girls have some sort of minor self-esteem issues. But too much is too much ya feel me?

Wow that was long.

It pisses me off. My girl will say that sometimes, and I keep telling her that it's nothing, but she keeps on doing it. So I decided to help her out and boosting her self-confidence. I bought us both some bikes and everyday, we ride 10 miles everyday. She says that now she feels good about it.

People like people who make them happy by simply being there. People who complain all the time are not as attractive to be with because they are not enjoyable to be around.

If you point out your flaws often enough that will be all we see.

him - "Wow! You look great!!!"
her - "You don't think this out fit makes this or that stick out?"
him - "Now that you pointed it out it does."

It can be pretty disheartening.
Especially when you tell her that she is beautiful. But, I guess it's just part of the way we relate to one another.
I just continue to tell her how lovely she is and hope that some day she'll know it to be true.
