That is true sometimes, especially for men that can get over past relationships. The sad part is that they might be losing someone that really cares and love them. I've been hurt in the past, but I always have had hope and faith in love, it doesn't matter how hurt I am, I can heal, and start all over.
Maybe your bf needs more time to completely trust your love.

i'm 26 and i'm a girl but i've seen men and i've seen hurt and i know it's not easy to let go as a girl,it takes time and the time varies from person to person.but for the guys it's even more complicated..when a guy trully loves he loves totally and with all his heart and he gets hit really hard.it's difficult to let go especially cause of fear of the past repeating itself again. They get scared for many reasons;they look at how far they were in the last relationship and what it got them[heartbreak],they look at how much they trusted the last girl with thier heart and see what she did,they look back and just can't get past all the hurt they feel just immediately.
But one thing's for sure if you love them[him]unconditionally regardless of the fact that maybe he's still hurting he'll surely respond to your love .All he needs is more of tender loving care ,he needs the security of your love more than you know or more than you think he does.In my own opinion no matter how bad someone has gotten as some point they always respond to love.He'll learn to trust again and he'll love you more for understanding and being there for him when he was healing.Have a happy relationship.I hope i've helped a bit.

I was in a relationship where I thought I loved him and then on day he just up and breaks my heart. I thought I was never going to get over him. He reallly hurt me..but then I met the most wonderful guy in the world! And we've been dating for a little over a year now, but no matter how bad I tried forgetting about the other guy and how bad I wanted to hate this guy who broke my heart, I couldn't. And it was holding me back from the guy I fell in love with a year ago. But I just had to realize that he was in the past and now I have someone better who loves me with all of his heart. Just give him time. It might be a little frustrating but he will eventually realize that it was all in the past. =] GL

well for men being hurt is there greatest fear when it come to dating. when they open there heart and it's broken that's it! it will never happen again and if someone comes along and makes him feel as if he can trust again, then he will fight himself until he can't do it anymore so he gives in. It takes men an extremely long time to let go of things especially when it come to women. Just be his friend make him feel comfortable and if he feels that you could be the one then he will give in if not then he won't/

one of the reasons it's hard because it's a serious slap to the ego, also think about it, have you ever been hurt? it really sucks. and it can be hard to trust again, you play with fire you get burned, so most people (with common sense) dont go back to the fire. you just need to be yourself and give him time. when i started dating my girlfriend, it was hard to trust her, but now, i trust her with my life. after time he will give in, you can't run from love, or at least so i hear, lol

He's been hurt and has to evaluate how he goes about trusting people, because clearly he's trusting the wrong people. He has to figure out how he's going to do it do avoid the pain of being hurt by you or anyone.

One area of your existence is over. yet a sparkling one is beginning. the only reason you would be stumbling around the residing house at 4 a.m. is to locate a crying toddler at evening. funds may be tight, yet so what. you may have a drink lower back. only no longer as much as until now. i replaced into dreading those that would desire to touch your tummy. i do no longer run around touching you, do no longer touch me. whilst your abdomen starts off to tutor, i think of it turns into public belongings. i replaced into fortunate i did no longer tutor until my final 2 weeks. And changing diapers. And only crying for no reason. there is maximum of extra issues which you will remember extra. like the 1st word. the beautiful little noises the toddler makes. First steps. each and all of the undesirable issues are so properly worth it.
