No further discussions or decisions have been made since the announcement last September of '06.
At this point, General Motors is keeping their options open to possibly merge with a motor company, but which one is yet to be seen.

the only thing that is merging is both GM and FORD wanna try to develop more alternative fuel cars and technology with each other. no company mergers. Also they both agreed that the Japanese Mfg of the Hybrid modules sends their products 1st to Toyota. Limiting the supply for US made Hybrids.

well seeing as how GM and Ford have always been rivals i could not ever see them merging and as for when they have not done so and as for the result...it does not exist.
