Maybe it isn't love: just an emotional attachment disguised as love.
Depends on what kind of misunderstanding it was. It it was the kind where you passed him salt and he asked for pepper, then it's a silly problem that could be worked out. However, if that misunderstanding was him walking in on you, the neighbor, the neighbor's second ex-wife, and a video camera, and you thought he would be the one filming instead of Allejandro the Rodeo Clown, well, then that's something that probably can't be worked out.
Regardless, if they have made their feelings clear numerous times, then there isn't anything you can do but force yourself to wake up each morning knowing that better things are in store for you.

Why would you want to be with someone that doesn't love you?
How could you possibly think they're right for you if they don't love you?
I'm in that place right now, and it isn't easy. He's gone and I'm alone. It's been almost a year and I'm still heartbroken.
That doesn't mean that I'm still trying to get through to him. I don't call, I don't e-mail, and I don't drive by his house. I don't ask friends for intelligence on him, and I don't show up in places where I think he's likely to be.
A clean break is the best thing. It hurts a lot, but given enough time, things will get better. Its taking me a long time because I was with him for 15 years.
Take time to grieve, but stop fantasizing about getting them back.
I wouldn't humiliate myself in this way. He was horribly cruel, and I will not let him see me cry. I would never take him back either, not even if he begged.
When people treat you like garbage, you don't ask them in for tea.
Good luck to you, I really hope you find someone new.

You can't. They have already made up their mind probably. No amount of explanation will they ever accept if they are that hard headed and stubborn. Even if they know how insignificant the misunderstanding was, they won't ever tell you that and they'll have to live with their misery of letting someone so wonderful get away from them.

go get yourself laid.... and let your emotions flow.... of course that could cost you money if you are a man.. but its better than suicide....one way to get over a pink taco is to kiss another vertical smile.
