What do you have to do for company's to blacklist you?

i went to the bank yestereday, to get a load and i was told that i couldn't have one because in the last month i've been blacklisted and so has my partner, i don't have any depts of any kind, i checked with the council and the inland revenue, as they are the only things that are in mine and my partners name but it's nither of them, so i don't understand what it is as i haven't done anything, it's happend in the last month what every it is any ideas? i'm going to the cab tomorrow to see if they can help me.

I think you should request your credit file, from wither EQUIFAX, MYCALLCREDIT.COM or EXPERIAN
