And vengence is His!

It's not about us... you will have to answer to Him!

Many of you just talk and follow the leader without really undertanding the damage you are causing with your mouth... you allow people to judge your perception of God and you fail to realize that we are just people! You have a lot of courage and a lot of nerve!

That's a really good point, and I think that most people who are mocking God, or you or me, just don't think.

How do you know that God's insulted? I like to believe that God doesn't have negative emotions. If an ant came up to me and insulted me: would I be angry? Amused? Would I feel sorry for the ant? I hope I would be like God and merely feel compassion for the ant's point of view because maybe, being so much bigger and having such a bigger perspective on the world than the ant, I might know things the ant doesn't, and might therefore be able to appreciate that while things might seem one way to the ant, I know that the ant can't see the truth. In which case, I hope I would be compassionate and wouldn't be so selfish and petty that I would feel insulted and take out my vengeance by stomping the poor, ignorant ant. Let's all show some compassion, because sometimes we're all just a bunch of ants.

"you allow people to judge your perception of God and you fail to realize that we are just people!"

I would LOVE to know what was going through your head as you typed that. It's utterly nonsensical.

I often have a hard time believing that you people even understand the basic notion that words have meanings. I mean, you enthusiastically repeat things that make no sense whatsoever, and then encourage each other for doing so, acting like they're profound statements.

Oh, and "god's vengeance" so far hasn't added up to anything at all. For a supposedly omnipotent being, he sure is a weakling, don't you think?

How about the easterbunny, can I mock him, without going to Hell? Religions are fantasies for the weak and feeble. If you need a God, nobody will bother you here in the USA, you are free to do your praying and crap. Just don't expect other people to believe in the same fantasy. There are 3000 religions on earth and they all claim to be the only one.

Poseidenneptune: You're insulting those of us who do believe He exists.

It's hurtful and insensitive to insult a God others believe in. It insults us believers because we feel like we too are being judged and ridiculed simply for believing. We are not insulted by people who don't believe. We don't care. But it is cruel when a person makes fun of a God people do believe in. It's a sign of disrespect toward us believers. Nonbelievers don't have to believe in our God but they do have to respect that some of us DO believe. And one of the ways to show that nonbelievers do respect us believers is to simply not insult our God. There are laws in this country that are supposed to protect those of us who do have a religion. It's called "religious freedom". We have the right to worship and have faith. We have the right to have a religion or a spirituality or both and NOT be ridiculed for it.

P.S. I am deeply hurt by everyone who insults my God. I'm starting to get to the point that I hate coming on here. I think I might quit coming permanently.

The same could be said of those who mock Allah, or Krishna, or any other spiritual figure worshipped anywhere in the world.

When they mock you, they are doing just that: mocking you. They aren't targeting your God, because (usually) they don't believe in it.

And threatening punishment described in your religious texts has no effect on those who don't believe in your religion. Would you be worried if I said you could be damned to an eternity in Yomi? No. See how pointless that is?

Your god puts us on this earth and makes us worship him. If we don't devote our lives to him then we suffer for eternity right. He flooded to world and killed the first born child of all those people. That kind of sounds like a little bit of a dictator right? Well you know what I don't really care if I have to face your god i will tell him the same things I am saying to you he is a dead beat thing that gives us nothing but we have to worship him and devote our lives to him. F*ck that I will live my life the way I want to live my life you only get one why spend the whole thing living the way a made up character want you to.

Those who have mocked my faith, don't know anything about it. They think they do, but they actually don't. Simple conversation proves that. Ignorance is bliss. I shrug my shoulders and pity them - to be full of hate must be a sad life indeed. And I dig deeper into my faith so I can provide valid, knowledgeable statements instead of just rhetoric.

And I forgive them. Just as Jesus said to. It is not my place to judge anyone. To sit on my high horse and condemn because others don't believe as I do, makes me worse than they are. Zealots are more dangerous than non-believers. God warns us of both types of people.

im afraid you do not understand...people who mock 'believers' do so with the intention of belittling those beliefs because they dont believe in god and are simply not worried that this non existent being will exact revenge on them...you cannot be punished by something that does not exist...

Tell your fellow Christains here in R&S, They give your God a worse name than anyone else ever could.
Mostly by threatening people with Vengeance, and Retribution.
Keep your 'monster under the bed' tales for frightening children.

And, while I think of it, Thank You for driving me one step further away from Christianity with your threats.
I'm Sure I'm not alone.

You don't?
He doesn't care what we say about "him," or even if we read the Bible or go to church. God only cares about the type of person you are on the inside. And judging from your tirade here, you'll be shoveling coal, not strumming a harp.
