You it be displaying a bit of a self confidence issue?

Would it really make a difference to you whether or not people got down on their knees to tell you how wonderful you are?

Sorry, that's meant to be "Wouldn't it be displaying...."

I'd be too busy going on TV in the Middle East and begging everyone to stop killing each other on my account.

If I was omnipotent... I would have done everything reasonable already, or at the very least knew ahead of time what it was to do them...

... So I would spend my time trying to do paradoxical things....

I'd probably just go straight for trying to destroy myself in a way that I couldn't possibly recover from...... like removing my own omnipotence.

But I honestly wouldn't give a toss what insignificant little human specks were doing one way or another.... any more than I do now.

I'd imagine that such one-way routes would inevitably become the fate of all possible omnipotent beings.

There's no way I'll ever be omnipotent, so I'll just look at this quest from God's point of view...

It would be to get people to stop thinking about themselves and to realize there is something more important in life than "me, me, me".

It's to remind us that we have Somewone who loves and cares for us that will help us through all our trials.

God doesn't need our worship - He's God with or without it. It's us who needs it.

I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own - a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms.
