I don't know. I'm curious about how the mormons and amish are compared. Curious about the amish religion! Are mormons and Amish people the same except for the book of mormon? I don't know! Please cure my curiousity!

First of all, do you realize that your question has nothing to do with your additional comments???

I live near a large group of Amish and also am related to Mormons, so I'd like to answer this question.

The Amish and Mormons have very little in common. The Amish shun modern technology as worldliness. Most are very friendly people and treat people with kindness.

The Mormons also shun certain worldly practices, but they also use three books as their religious guidelines: the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price.

While both wear clothing distinct to only their religions they are totally different. Latter Day Saints (Mormons) wear "garments" which are an undergarment, and the Amish wear external clothing that is very distinctive.

Amish do go into larger cities to shop, see a doctor, and other concerns. Many also work in factories and operate a computer. I know of one Amish woman who drove a forklift at work in her dress.

I am Mormon and I use electricity, I drive, I shop at the mall, I can't farm, or provide for myself without the grocery store I would starve. Amish and Mormon really have nothing in common.
Go to www.LDS.org to learn more about LDS/Mormons.
