Well David was no midget. Goliath was over 9 feet tall they figure so I guess everyone would be a midget compared to him. The story is shown that we can not do things on our own but, with God we can do all things no matter how impossible it may seem . Peace out......................

God had seen from David the ability to think how one can ward off his fears. The size of problems for Israel against his enemies eversince have been bigger than Goliath. It is not the design of God for Goliath to be slain by David but it was what He found in David that He chose him to lead Israel. That gave the Jews the inspiration and determination to face the odds at any circumstances which is still a glowing quality they possess.
Had David been unsuccessful in his encounter with Goliath, another courageous one may have been chosen or Israel would never have had that opportunity of being chosen to last. There is no Intelligent Design that will involve God to make man move like His robots. The Intelligent Design He did is the creation of man in His righteous image and likeness and the available resources anyone can find to make use of for man's survival in the continuing cycle of life.

David was a boy, not a midget.
The varying heights of mankind is a result of sin (not personal, but back to the sin of our origianl parents that has affected our DNA over the centuries). The result of sin is not Intelligent Design. To use evolution terms, it seems our bodies are "devolving" instead of evolving - growing further and further away from the perfect being.

David wasn't a midget, he was a child at the time. And yes, it was God's plan for that to happen.

When Samuel anointed David as future king the Holy Spirit told him not to anoint his older, stronger and self-promoting siblings.
God often prefers to use people who don't think too highly of themselves, as people who are arrogant rely on themselves, and are characteristically mean to the less fortunate.
