After those meatballs my tummy needs a rest.I'll have a salad I think. Some nice ox tongue with a bit of mature cheese and a hard boiled egg. Usual salad of lettuce(I like those little Gem ones)tomatoes.spring onions and pickled beetroot.I like water cress or mustard and cress. Am not keen on cucumbers or peppers.Salad cream and mayonnaise.A few boiled very new small potatoes would be nice. You can't beat the Jersey Royals but it's too early in the year for them.I think that will do me for this evening,Thanks.

LOL, that's a nice way of getting someone's attention. I'm not sure what's in your pantry/fridge or what you'll like to eat, so I'll just tell you what we had at our house. Monday nigh we had Parmesan crusted Tilapia, mashed potatoes, and a green salad. Tuesday night we had Teriyaki baked chicken, white rice, and sesame sautee'd broccoli. Tonight we're having Penne La Vodka with a Cesar salad and garlic bread. Tomorrow we're having stuffed Porchops and wild rice with steamed veggies.

Koobideh, its a persian dish and super easy to make.
get some ground lamb, or beef, puree some onions and garlic. add turmeric salt pepper and paprika. 1 egg and mix together like a meat loaf, then shape the meat like a long stick , or if you have em, skewer like a Kabob.and BBQ em
make a nice salad onion, tomatoes and cucmbers diced
season the salad with lemon juice, salt and pepper
Buy some hummous to dip the meat in.
and make Tadiq,
cut up some potatoes like potato chips
basmati rice, salted and cooked halfway and strained
in a pot put some oil or butter,
and put a layer of the potatoes down covering the bottom season them salt pepper garlic powder.
then stick the drained rice in the pot in a mound and cover so it steams the rice to fully cooked, make sure not to burn the potatoes
about 10 15 minutes
when its done submerge the bottom of the pot in cold water to lift the potatoes, and then put a plate on top of the pot and
flip it over trying not to mess up the whole thing.
its simple tasty and diffrent, kids love it and it looks cool for company if you can flip it with out messing up the potatoes
And an easy thing to do that my family loves is fresh bread
-- Cheat get some pizza dough from the store stick it in a bread pan or whatever even on a tray,
cook it for about 20 minute til it has a nice dark crust.
it'll be soft inside, crispy outside and its tasty,
spead on some butter sprinkle garlic powder,
or olive oil salt pepper garlic bits, whatever you like on a plate and dip the bread into it. delicious
you could even just make pizza rolls, rollout the dough like a pizza, put some chicken, spinache, feta cheese, onion , garlic
whatever you like and then roll it up like a taco and cook it in the oven til done nice dark golden color .

Stir fry chicken and vegetable noodles
100g/3½oz chicken, sliced
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 lime, juice only
3 tbsp coriander, chopped
100ml/3½fl oz vegetable stock
2 tbsp soy sauce
For the noodles
150g/5¼oz plain flour
2 free-range eggs
25ml/1 fl oz water
Method
1. For the chicken stir fry, place the chicken in a hot wok with the sesame oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes.
2. Add the lime juice, coriander, vegetable stock and soy sauce.
3. For the noodles, mix the plain flour with the eggs and water to form a smooth dough.
4. On the pasta machine place the noodle dough onto the fine noodle setting. Create your noodles by feeding the pasta through the machine slowly.
5. Now place the noodles into the wok and continue to cook for five minutes.
6. Serve in a large bowl.
or Lemon chicken
450g/1lb chicken breasts, no skin or bone - cut into strips
1 egg white
2 tsp cornflour
good pinch salt
sesame oil
250ml/8fl oz groundnut oil
3 lemons, juice and zest
85ml/2fl oz chicken stock
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp light soy sauce
splash of dry sherry
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 red chilli, finely chopped
1 tsp cornflour or arrowroot - mixed with water
small bunch spring onions, shredded
seasoning
Method
1. Combine the egg white, cornflour, salt, a little sesame oil and chicken in a bowl - stir to make sure the chicken is well coated. Leave for about 20 minutes.
2. Heat a wok until very hot, add some groundnut oil and heat until smoking. Remove from the heat and add the chicken - stir quickly to stop it from sticking and cook until the chicken turns white. Drain the chicken over a heatproof bowl, set the chicken to one side, allow the oil to cool and discard.
3. Wipe the wok clean and make the sauce. Add the stock, lemon juice, sugar, soy and dry sherry together with the garlic and chilli. Bring to the boil and whisk in the cornflour or arrowroot mixture. Simmer gently for a few moments and then add the chicken. Stir fry to make sure the chicken is well coated and heated through properly.
4. Add a little sesame oil as final seasoning and serve scattered with spring onions.
Or Spaghetti with Olive Oil, Garlic and Chilli
8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or linguine
4 tablespoons Italian extra virgin olive oil
2 fat cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 fat red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
salt and freshly milled black pepper
Begin by putting the pasta on to cook. Then, just heat the olive oil in a small frying pan and, when it is hot, add the garlic, chilli and some freshly milled black pepper. Cook these very gently for about 2 minutes, which will be enough time for the flavourings to infuse the oil.
When the pasta is cooked, return it to the saucepan after draining, then pour in the hot oil. Mix well, then serve straight away on warmed pasta plates.
Chicken fajitas
2 Mexican-style tortillas
100ml/3½fl oz double cream
250g/8¾oz Port Salut cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
100g/3½oz chicken breast, sliced into strips
2 spring onions
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/428F/Gas 7.
2. Heat the cream and the cheese in a pan until the cheese has melted.
3. Heat the olive oil in a wok and stir-fry the chicken strips 2-3 minutes. Add the spring onion and cook for another minute.
3. Place the tortillas in a baking dish and divide the chicken stir fry between the two, wrapping the tortillas round the stir fry. Pour over the cheese sauce and bake in the oven for ten minutes, or until bubbling and golden.
4. Serve

Since you asked in such an interesting manner, maybe you should try covering your husband in chocolate for dinner. Of course, you could just try a brisket, we had one last night and it was really good.
