You've really answered your own question. The only way to do something, is by doing it. You have to work up the stamina to jog long distances or times though. Just gradually, as your body feels comfortable, walk a little faster every time you go out and sooner than you know you'll be able to jog. Then repeat gradually building speed of your jog, as long as your body can handle it.

If you are just jogging you should be able to talk when you are running. If you can not talk then you are running too fast. Drink plenty of water. If you wait until you are thirsty then you have waited too long. You biggest danger is dehydration. Eat lots of carbs. I don't know what is your goal other than running as far as you can. You need to increase your distance by about 25% every 3-4 weeks. If you jump up too much you are subject to injury because your body is not acclimated to the extra mileage.

Try finding a place to jog that you enjoy, such as a park or local jogging trail. Also, many parks have "jogging clubs" that include people of all fitness levels, which means that regardless of whether you are fast or slow, you will have others there who are at the same fitness level as you to help motivate and encourage you.

Umm...yeah...it causes shin-splints (fractures of the shin bone) and creates havoc in breast material....so its not sensible to do it at all. Walking is better....sprinting is ok if its only for a short spurt occasionally.
Jogging causes elongated boobs and shin-splints so give it a miss. In men its even worse because the power surges (endorphins) makes them less inclined to sexing up their wives/girlfriends and attributes to them complaining about their mates disappearances and negligent horny outputs. Men should concentrate on slower, less vigorating methods outside the bedroom...unless they dont like their partners anymore. Women get juicier with sport so continue on....without the fractures and boob conditions....ie no jogging allowed.

Have your form evaluated by a coach or someone more advanced for form tips. Good running form can increase your comfort which increases your distance, decreases your times and allows you to gain the maximum results from your run.
Good luck!
