Cant answer this but it is a very good question, makes you sit down and actually think what you are putting into your body.

I think it may help if you identify what "poison" you are talking about. I have heard about a book that says fluoride is "poisonous", but in small doses is harmless. The pesticides farmers use in the growing of fruits and vegetables are probably poisonous, but then, we are instructed to thoroughly rinse fruits and vegetables before serving them. Pesticides are meant to be poisonous to fruit flies.

Are you implying that chlorine is poisonous? Well, I don't know about you, but I don't plan on drinking gallons of pool water!!!

Water-- plain old H2O-- can make you drunk if you drink too much of it at one time. But you cannot live without water, either. Anything can make you sick, if you do not ingest or consume it properly. Thanks for scaring people!!!

Many things are poisonous, however if taken in moderation can be healing as well. Even if you ate, drank, swam in, or brushed with was all natural and organic you would still have toxins in your system. It's how the body works. If you drank nothing but water for 2 weeks straight and ate nothing in those two weeks, besides being hungry your urine would still contain toxins. It's all part of life, you can't avoid it. Good question though.

Because it's convenient. No one really know how to deal with stuff naturally and it's often too expensive to get natural help. For example, instead of seeing a therapist to get to the root of a problem, people would rather take pills to deal with stuff thus suppressing the problem instead of solving the issue.
Sometime it seems that using chemicals is choosing the lesser of to evils.
Other times it's just stupidity. Like when people smoke, they know it's deadly but they do it anyway for whatever reasons.
But the main reason is for convenience.

All of the things you refer to as poison have drastically increased the average life expectancy over the past 50 years. If you want to die young then stop consuming all those things you are worried about.

It's all about moderation isn't it? But basically we've screwed up just about everything so its all bad. Look at illegal drugs - they all came from trying to synthesise natural compounds.

Thanks for the thoughtful question and try not to think about the 500 extra chemicals in your body that are only there as a result of industrialised processes (ie plastics)

Probally because it's all contaminated to some degree if not a lot. But we have to eat something. We have to take medicine sometimes, we have to drink the water even though it might be bad for us. I have read up on a product called melaluka. they seem to be trying to keep chemicals out of their products. It takes Money to keep things as clean as you'd want them to be. But, it also takes people's want to and it seems to be a no win situation with the way things are. Well, take care and have a good day! God Bless!

whilst i became 10, I jumped over a ramp on my bike, crashed and landed in a patch of poison ivy. I awakened day after in the present day and could not open my eyes, my finished face became swollen. My mom took me to the well being care provider and he had the nerve to assert "Wow, this is the worst case of poison ivy I even have ever considered". Who says that to a 10 12 months previous. besides, after asserting that, I surpassed out (dude, i became scared). as quickly as I have been given domicile, my Dad desperate to get me a recent to make me sense better. He have been given me comedian books (i could not open my eyes dumba$$). That became the worst of many cases.

I've often wondered that myself. We eat nothing good for us, and drink cokes which can take currosion off of a car battery. Everything is meant for your body to catch infections and only certain fruits and vegetables can heal us. Seams like most medication is there with major side effects so why is it really called medicine? Who is behind all of this and why? Who wants the majority of Americans to suffer and die? Life sucks anymore here.
