clothes, teething toys b/c that's coming soon, a mirrored toy for tummy time, an easter bunny with no loose parts for baby to choke on, egg shaped rattle, a keepsake for first easter, a board book, the ideas are endless, and the baby won't really remember it so have fun and pick out what you like that you think the baby will enjoy.

Actually, we didn't do an Easter basket for my son when he was that age (born in November). The next year we did.

With my second child we did do an Easter basket for his first Easter, but he was 9 months old.

I suppose you could do things like the little linksey toys that you can attach to the crib, infant carrier, stroller or carseat. A "my first Easter" bib or shirt. A hand puppet washcloth. A tiny stuffed bunny, baby chick, or lamb. Maybe a "my first Bible" cardboard book.....

Stuffed animals and dumdum lollipops that way he can enjoy the sweet sugary side of the easter basket. And maybe a tiny bit of chocolate. But the onsies and baby's first easter ideas are cute too. And some dyed easter eggs are cute

I would add the books - Run Away Bunny or Pat the Bunny- which will quickly become family favorites as the child grows -maybe a stuffed bunny to go with it and put in in a small tote bag instead of a basket with artificial grass filler...

Or you could go the practical route as others suggested and put in items that the child needs....

bottles
onsies
socks
small hand rattles
formula if using
a personalized item
baby lotion
diaper cream

A book about Easter.
Jars of baby food.
A lullabye CD.
A teether.

And make sure you take a picture of the basket when it's complete. That way, they can see what the Easter Bunny left them for their first Easter when they're older. :-)

New Baby Toys
New Blanket
New Pacifier if takes one
Piggy Bank (if does not already have one)

Just remember they are not going to remember what they were giving for Easter. It is the thought that counts.

Onesies, some jammies, a baby safe soft cuddly toy, a soft receiving blanket, a package of pacifiers, some baby bath and baby lotion-practical things. I think that is a really cute idea for "Baby's First Easter" gift.

Oh how fun. I remember that age and miss it so!
I would do some small cloth books, tiny sandals/booties, a stuffed chickie that tweets, some nice bath products, a keepsake rattle/spoon, a cd and maybe a family photo in a nice frame for his/her nursery.
Make sure to take lots of photos!
