Weekly.... on the affordable end 400-500, (best way.... get a roommate or two)

You don't want to live in the cheapest place.... though if you aren't bothered by commuting to work, look at the suburbs, Queens, Bronx.... MUCH cheaper.

In the East Village, a two bedroom apartment will go for about $2,500 a month. Yet in Manhattan most apartments are co-ops fetching for over $1 million dollars depending on the neighborhood. In Manhattan, there is really no cheap place to live, you could try Spanish Harlem or Harlem. Outside of Manhattan, you could try the Bronx for inexpensive apartments. Chances are there will be safety issues so if you are concerned about that get a smaller apartment in a working class neighborhood like Jackson Heights Queens.

Monthly, about 1500-200 a month. Cheapest place to live in the city, depends on what kind of area you want to live, and how far you're willing to commute. You can get an apartment in the South Bronx for 800 a month, but most people wouldnt want to live there.

Rents are not calculated by the week generally there are monthly. There are no cheap places to live here :( Even the flop houses on the bowery have been renovated and turned into condos.
