The Abrahamic relegions are essentially tribal religions, and as such, codify xenophobia and violence.

Now since you are an atheists, You won't believe anything I tell you, but here it goes anyway, The bible says a man is most misable, if only in this life he has hope. Now you ask why we have weapons of mass destruction, & why we don't turn the other cheek, listern very close, did Jesus turn the other cheeck, when he over turned the tables in the temple. No. Now concerning our weapons, If we did not have them we would have already been destroyed, Oh yes, I am a USA citizen, Born & raised in the USA. How many countries would desire to destroy us. But our military might have thus far protected us as much as they can, that is why The United States Military is consider a super power. We don't have mass weapons of destruction to destroy but to protect.

remember in the OT, God's chosen people, the Israelites, fought in battles often. God's anointed ones like Saul, David and Solomon killed many in battles. There is a difference in killing and murdering. Taking innocent lives and taking the lives of evil ones. Since the beginning God has instructed His people to fight against pagans and evil.

The problem we have now is that the world is mostly secular and no longer listen to God. We let our egos tell us what to do instead of listening to God.

In the NT, Jesus came with an additional commandment. But loving your enemy doesn't mean to just let them run wild with their evil doings. God loves us all equally but still punishes us when we disobey.

Christian countries are not christian.
The commandments of Jesus the King of Heaven can not be carried out by countries or even a group of people.
Only individual disciple of Jesus can carry those instructions.
No wonder there is a saying: Go into heaven one by one!

Don't be an idiot, God gave you a brain and expects you to use it.
If you turn the other cheek with regard to radical extremists who want to kill your family and destroy your Cities by flying planes into them, then quess what:
You're gonna get your cheek blown off.
God will separate the wheat from the Chaff;
What we are doing with weapons is protecting ourselves against that chaff until God intervenes. He will not intervene until the time appointed. Man is left to free will
and when you look around in disgust at the world and all its sufferings you can know this: This is what you get when man is given the authority to run things. Its an entire lesson within itself.
To further answer your question, yes it is very Christian to blast them into oblivian.
War is war. A person who doesn't defend himself or his family and nation is worthess both to his fellow peoples and to God.
You sound like a damn democrat. Would you prefer we speak kindly words to the terrorists, pray with them, perhaps serve tea???.....Don't be stupid....................

You need to keep in mind, they are Christendom nations, not Christian nations.

You are corrrect in feeling the Christian should turn the other cheek, for God sees all that goes on.

Well, this surely is an easy question to answer, if we didn't possess weapons, we wouldn't be a Christian country, that is quite simple for anyone to see, even you. Because the enemies of freedom and of all people really, would have long ago have sent us into oblivion.

Two children playing chess:
Child 1: All my pieces are Christian.
Child 2: What does that mean?
Child 1: It means all my pieces follow God and get to go to Heaven.
Child 2: Oh, then all my pieces are Christian too!
Child 1: Wait, if all of our pieces are Christian, why are they fighting?
Child 2: ... chess is hard.

Scripture tells us to 'turn the other cheek' - not tie our hands behind our backs.

Protecting one's self is not wrong or non-Christian.

Because this religion has been responsible for the torture, murder and execution of over 200 million live since "Romans" created it...........The God you speak of "promotes" that we kill each other. God in "heaven" doesn't and as for atheists, they will find out at the end of their life for we all "die.." atheists included.
