I don't know about a German scientist's study, but here is information on some medications for stuttering:

This entry was in the Stuttering Foundation's Fall Newsletter, so check their newsletters online for more information on pagoclone:

Indevus Pharmaceuticals announced the results of a Phase II trial for pagoclone in stuttering and the data were quite promising. Indevus said it was very encouraged by the results of the trial on a number of levels. Very importantly,
the safety profile of pagoclone was excellent, as it has been in previous trials, the drug company reported. Indevus will be meeting with FDA to define the pathway for further development of pagoclone for stuttering. Stay tuned at www.stutteringhelp.org for more information.

I can verify that doctors will do anything and make a disorder out of normalities of life in order to drug you. I also know that htey are routinely offered challenges to accept the same punishment they dole out to their patients but never take the money.
