i always got his back n i make sure he doesnt get his *** kicked at school. but i been doing this for free, n i wanna start getting paid for bein his body guard. should i charge him?

That depends on how good a friend you are to him. Always remember to get it in writing if you do decide to charge him . Also is his friendship worth maybe you getting shot or really badly hurt by someone Remember you are important too.
Why not teach him to defend himself? Teach a man to fight and he can fight his own battles.

If he's really your friend it is your duty to do this. One day he'll remember it and repay the debt.
