I've been dating with a Japanese guy for 8 month, I really like him, but he is complicated with his family issue, he married once and told me he alreay divorced. but sometime he still says" my wife" when he mentions her. he told me they didn't end up the marrige on Japanese said(this guy has two nationalities, they married twice both in Jap and Canada.) and also he says he loves me but can not manage to marry me for now, even promise a quit of relationship when there is someone else showing up. He said he couldn't give me what I wanted, I deserve better, he just stay with me in my gap. this really bothers me cz I falled in love with him, not just sextually or materially. I don't even know whether he is my boyfriend or not. what should I do? I need suggestion.

You can not deal with this situation for the rest of your life. There are cultural differences that will always plague you. The best thing for you to do is move on to someone that shares the similar values, and similar customs. If he is this perplexed about what to do now, just think what will happen later in life when you have children. You may not even have a say as to how they are raised.

I realize that it will be hard to lose him, but it could be a lot worse. You could be together for years before you realized this problem. Best wishes for your future.
