I actually went today for my 5th treatment. I have noticed a big difference of about 70-95% improvement so far. It's very expensive because you require many sessions to see a good result. It takes anything from about 6-10 or more sessions to get a 'good' result. The results will depend on the type of hair you have and the colour of your skin. The hair should be dark and skin lighter but there are lasers that work on darker skin too. I hadn't been since last October and the improvement has remained the same all this time. Expensive treatment but worthwhile.

It does hurt in parts but that's how you know it's working, you can get numbing creams extra to help with the pain. The laser light beam is attracted by the pigment in the hair and slowly kills and deforms the hair follicle. If your skin is tanned you can also end up burning your skin so you have to be very careful!!! You go back every 6-10 weeks depending on the area of your body, hair on the face grows back quicker than other areas. Hope this helps a bit.

I have had laser hair removal on my face. The perfect candidate for laser hair removal is someone with very light color skin and very dark hair. It is not permanent. I had it done several times. Eventually it got to a point where I didn't need another treatment for about two years.

I had my first treatment done when it was brand new back in 1998. The technician who was doing mine was very excited about doing me because I am the perfect candidate & was one of her first clients. So she wanted to do my neck, which was just downy hair & was not noticeable. After almost a year the hair on my neck grew back in thicker, darker and like whiskers.

I had electrolysis done a few times on my neck after that and then switched back to laser. Electrolysis is much more painful than laser. Laser really isn't that bad. Take some pain killers before you go. Don't freak out when you see smoke coming off your skin or smell burning hair. It does that sometimes.

You should shop around for a good price the original place I went was a well known plastic surgeons office and they charged $400 for 30 minutes. The next place I went I had it done free by someone who was in training. Her teacher sat with her the whole time, so she could make sure the student didn't fry my face. Then I found a wonderful place that only charged $150 for 20 minutes. You can do a lot in 20 minutes.

Make sure to check the technicians credentials & find out how many hours of training they have had.

I still have problems with my neck & a little on my chin. I haven't had any treatments done in over two years. I tried tweezing it, don't ever do that if you have coarse hair. The hair will grow back in as ingrown hairs. It was horrible. For now I just shave it.

It is definitely worth having done because you will feel so much more confident & less self-conscious My only regret is letting that tech do my neck that didn't need to be done.
Good luck!

I have had 4 Tx done on my neck and my wife had her UA, bikini and legs done. The treatments worked great and 6 years later I do not have any regrowth. My wife also had great results and her UA and bikini areas have not seen regrowth. For her legs, she only had 2 Tx so the hair was thinned but not completely removed.

The previous posters kind of missed on how it works. If you go to www.HairRemovalForum.com you can get a clear understanding of how the various technologies work. That site also has a list of providers and with www.SignatureForum.com they rate providers nationwide. The most important thing related to getting good results is to go to someone who knows what they are doing and utilize the latest technology.

yes, and it hurts a little.. this is how it works.. the laser actualy cooks your skin.. it burns the fat on the skin and destroys the hair cells. and you have to go back its not a one time thing.. like you go and then come back for another session.. like a few days or so later.. and do it again.. like 3 times or so.. to make sure the burned it all gone.. my boss did it.. and she said it sucked.. but it works.. so its worth it.. she never has to shave again.. so for a little pain you dont have to shave.. but it cost so much.. anyways.. goodluck with it
