how about the local forest preserve? take a picnic and the fishing poles. some have hiking and nature trails. instead of watching dvd's and having a regular dinner, have an hors' douvers -sp- night and play games or watch home movies instead. if your kids are younger, tell them stories about your chidhood and show the old pics of family. my kids loved that, even when they were teens.

collect some lists of some interesting things-to-do with your family:

*do and plan some cooking together with your family on weekends.
*organize some interesting game with your whole family to participate. Game nights provide time to enjoy each other's company.
*in my own experience, we usually sit on a couch and start sharing and recollecting those times when we are still young, recalling about the mischievous deeds we'd done while growing up.

Alternatively, try getting involve in community work like helping the handicap & aged. Many have benefitted from such activities.

The best way to spend time with your family is to take them to a nudist resort. There is no better family oriented activity.
