Yes it is wrong to criticise but it is not wrong to denounce an act comitted by a Muslim calculated to show contempt
towards secular persons who have nothing to do with Islam.
In Australia the grand mufti was banned from preaching following remarks he made about secular women who have
nothing to do with Islam and therefore cannot be judged according to rules applicable to Islam.

It's wrong only if you live among radical Islamists. Such jihadists today invoke the Quran to justify the worst terrorist crimes. Throat slitting of infidels is mentioned in the Quran. Al-Mawardi (d. 1058), the prominent 11th century jurist quoted this verse, specifically, « When you encounter those who deny (the Truth) then strike (their) necks. » (Quran 47 :4), in his learned discussion of jihad. This ritual execution is also mentioned in other Muslim legal texts and in narratives of Christian and prominent Muslim historians. Today it is performed against infidels and recorded on videotape for the edification of Muslim audiences.

When the average pious Muslim reads a verse like 2:132 (“And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; ‘Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam’”) or 3:67 (“Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah’ (which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah”), he understands what so many imams tell him: that the true Jews and Christians of today are the Muslims, and the people who go by those names are renegades and rebels against God.

This is of course nonsense.

dear,
if you see any thing wrong in a religion read more and more about this point, or ask whom you think he will say the truth.
i know some stories about those who criticize Islam, some were judge, some go to prison, and some were murdered.
I'm a Muslim woman, but i hate that way of treatment with those, we must listen to them and know what in their mind.
we must talk together and each one listen to the other.
but I hope everyone understand the differences between us, and RESPECT the other.
but I will tell you something : Islam is not the devil come from East.
I must go now to my lecture.

It's OK to CONSTRUCTIVELY criticize anything and everyone - there is nothing that is perfect in this world and through constructive criticism rational people (and organizations) can recognize their shortcomings and change for the better. To fail to engage in a rational debate about any subject is intellectually dishonest, And to react to any debate with some violent reaction is barbarian, animal and contrary to morality.

It's wrong to criticize all religions! Why would we criticize Islam, because of 9/11? What about the iraq war? Bush? Lol, I don't hate anybody because of how they are, how they look and where they are from. I respect all kind of peoples!

The hallmark of a good idea or theory is that it withstands criticisms. If it cannot, the idea is flawed.
So no, there is not a single thing in existence which should be immune from critical appraisal.
