667 means nothing religiously. In fact, neither does 666. 666 does not represent "Satan" or "Lucifer" as Christians believe. However I understand their viewpoint.

In Revelations, John says: "This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666."

His statement "if anyone has insight," is referring to those who understand ancient Hebrew or perhaps Aramaic. Each character of the language has a numerical value, so if you calculate the the number "666" into it, you get the name of to who he is referring: Nero. The Roman Emperor of the 1st century AD.

The book of Revelations was written in around 68 or 69 AD, and Nero died in in 68 AD. Now, he was notorious for his persecution of the early Christians, and was seen by the church as the representation of all evil. It was believed by them, that he, like Jesus, would rise from the dead to battle Jesus, at the battlefield of Armageddon.

There are also new theories, that "666" was a mistranscription of John's writing, and that the true number of the beast (Nero) is "616."

Well, besides my Unix UID where I can manage it... :)

It's meant as a pun on 666, which as I understand it is as follows:

7 is a lucky number in Christianity (Seven Heavens, etc). 6 is almost that, but not quite, and can be seen as a way of representing the 2nd most powerful thing in existence - the devil, Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Mephistopheles, whatever you call him.

Christians believe in 3 parts/representations for their savior - father, son, holy spirit/ghost. So, triple 7 is kind of the best luck you can get, kind of Jesus blowing on your dice.. On the other hand, triple 6 is the worst, since it's the devil trying to mimic God (and fool you?).

Interesting, at least to me with my asymptotic atheism & vague interest in the numerology of established religions.

I guess above evil or some other nonsense. I thought it was supposed to be 777... or was that the neo-nazi slogan? Or both perhaps. Oh well.
