In my first marriage I totally lost myself by being wife, mother, worker etc and trying to please an unpleasable man. When I left I had no idea what I liked or didnt - I didnt even know what kind of clothes to buy.
It was a long process for me to work out what I like without all those other pressures telling me what I should and shouldnt like.
I just tried a bit of everything and never gave myself a hard time if I didnt like it.
I love to:
try new recipes by myself (no kids 'helping')
i love being at home alone, my home without having to do anything
walking on the beach all rugged up with my dog
going to the garden nursery and smelling roses
going to the bookstore for an hour, having coffee
having a foot massage and pedicure
going to the park with green grass, laying on the grass and looking up into the trees and sky
going to the library and getting 15 books out on anything and everything!
Reading trashy novels
Going to a speciality shop (Dean/Deluca) and buying something little and gorgeous and just enjoy browsing around
going to the movies alone (luxury!)
Buying some amazing bath oil/salts only for you
having a facial
Enjoy finding yourself.

At one time, I was in your shoes. I was so busy running around tending to everyone else, that I forgot to take care of myself. My stress level rose higher and higher as family health issues stretched me to my limits - depression set in, and I had difficulty even functioning. That's when my Counselor said I needed to "do something for myself".Part of why he said that was so I would know it was "up to me" to "want to" get better.
Here are some ways you can pay attention to your own emotional health.
Take a walk in the fresh air each day. - good for the mind and the body.
Find a friend to meet with once a week, even just for the walk.
Read a book for the pleasure of it.
Sneak away by yourself for an hour - enjoy a Coke, some fries or a Sundae without having to share it.
Once a week I would go and purchase for myself a single carnation to put on the windowsill above my kitchen sink - each morning or at times I was stressed out, I would close my eyes for maybe 15 seconds, sniffing my flower.
Pray and journal for a few minutes each day, alone.

You will do well to do something for others around you in addition to your immediate circle of family. Make two new friends this week. that is something for you . Choose the new friends from people who are like yourself for happiness.

I get myself a puzzle book, play an online game, have a hot bubble bath. It really doesn't matter, as long as it is something you enjoy.

Maybe just see if any ideas come to you. I really don't know what you want, but if you don't feel like doing anything right now, then I don't see what the hurry is.

Think back to when you were a kid. What did you love to do more than anything? Try that....
Who were you before you were a wife and mother, how did you fill your time? Remember your passion...and re-kindle it
