Trust, deep caring for the other persons welfare, and the knowledge that you want to spend the rest of your life with them. When you find that special person you will know all of this.

I think the most important thing is that you are both on the same page, meaning you want the same things out of life, such as a marriage to last forever, children, house, etc. I think you have to establish some sort of guideline to your future because you both have to want the same things or it is doomed no matter how much you love each other.

The Principles:
Responsibility
Accountability
The Fundamentals:
Love
Trust
Forgiveness
The Essentials:
Freedom
Perseverance
Work on those topics before you say "I DO" or else you'll be saying "I DID" instead of "I STILL".
How do U know if that special one is the one forever? Actually the vows are suppose to insure that. I would say for me, that It feels like you don't have to make any promises or be willful because everything feels very natural. Actually any relationship can work as long as the couple keeps greed & discontent away from their attitude.
Best wishes.

Most people say trust without thinking about it for a second and they're right to say that it is important. However, trust comes secondary to good communication. Go ahead, trust someone you know nothing about if you want, but it's a lot easier to be in a good, functioning relationship if both parties are committed enough to communicate their feelings, hopes, dreams and fantasies. Then you can begin to develop trust.

Its how you feel about that person even when your not with them. Of course trust has to be there, thats a given. If you feel more comfortable being around that person more than you ever have anyone else, thats always a good sign

When you fully have that trust in your partner...im not talking about they-never-goin-to-cheat-on-me kinda of trust, its more like trust in everything. When you get to the point where you realize the on-one else could make you complete like that person does. Its all in the heart and spirit. Love isnt just something we can find and let go....its something we have to build to be able to live in this world.

TRUST!!! loads of trust!! i cant tress that enough!
for me love is such a fickle thing, u can love someone &yet still hurt them, love them but leave them..
if i had trust interlinked with love: that could be the most strongest foundation to me ever.
TRUST: being blatent honesty, loyalty &faithfullness!! & i would not negotiate that at all!!
