For the sake of this question (and don't try to convince me otherwise) say Jesus is not the son of God, that whole side of Jesus was modeled after Pagan beliefs and Paul told of Jesus incorrectly.
First of all, what evidence (other than biblical) do we have of Jesus' existance?
Was he the son of God in the sense that he became one with the Divine (in his religion Yahweh) through a metaphysical experience that revealed the concept of Unity to him? Are many people capable of this?
I mean, all the things he did were to carry out the prophecy, right? So he purposely carried out the prophecy (like John baptising him, etc). Could that mean he just felt like a dude who could show people how to connect with the Divine and so he claimed he was the messiah?
Aren't people always the ones that make prophecies come true? We've been shown to have self fulfilling prophecies. We are the ones that say "this tornado fits this prophecy. It is fulfilled"
It's not really such a crazy concept.

If you have evidence other than the Bible, please post it, I'd honestly like to see it. I don't have a problem with Jesus having existed, I just haven't seen the evidence.

No argument from me on your premise. However, I think Jesus was simply a man ahead of his times with ideas and qualities that in those days were pretty darn unique.
There may be many people that would qualify with those qualities in more modern times. The whole hippie movement was based on love, make love not war, peace, freedom, harmony, understanding, sympathy, love, mystic crystal revelations, and the Aquarian Age. By the 1960s, these ideas had been kicked around some, were anti-establishment, and clearly no hippie was elevated to Jesus status.
On a more global note, Gandhi subdued a major world military power (Britain) without the use of violence. So back to your question, in the same way I do not consider Gandhi a prophet but nevertheless believe he was a great human being, I do not consider Jesus a prophet, but also a very influential human being for his time.

Jesus' existence was confirmed by the writings of the Roman, Josephus.
Those writings exist today.
And Jesus prophecied that the temple in Jerusalem would be torn down [ the temple built by Solomon]
Jesus died in 33 C.E.
The temple remained UNTIL 70 C.E. when IT WAS TORN DOWN by the Roman army.
Jesus had warned that when the inhabitants of Jerusalem saw '" A disgusting thing standing in a Holy place"...The Romans in Jerusalem, they should flee. This happened when the Romans beseiged Jerusalem in 67 C.E. Some obeyed Jesus prophecy and fled to the mountains. Then, for no obvious reason, the Romans departed. The ones who obeyed Jesus might have felt a bit silly. The ones who stayed in Jerusalem thought the prophecy was incorrect. But when the Roman army returned three years later under a new commander, and beseiged Jerusalem, a million people died of starvation. the only ones saved were those who fled Jerusalem three years before. confirming Jesus' prophecy.
So how did Jesus know this, considering he had died 34 years before.
An ordinary man does not have this sort of ability.

The closest you can get is. He prophecies his own death. He prophecies that one of his own people would betray him and that Peter would denied him.
Prophecies that he made himself. Not put onto him before his birth or whatever. Considering that many in that era considered fighting and defeating the Roman was an act of a true Messiah. Jesus made the strangely odd decision for the time to heal, and not cause more harm on his captors after Peter cut the guy's ear off.

I believe Jesus did exist. He was an intelligent and charasmatic man who was very religious and strongly against the Roman Empires' strong grip over Israel (which Jesus considered as God's holy land).
Jesus took a mythological book that was of grave importance to the culture in which he was raised and used his charisma and intelligence to get other followers to believe he was mentioned in the book as the messiah. He now goes down in history as, probably, the most popular individual of all time. Kudos to him.

i don't additionally be conscious of if Jesus actually existed or how lots of what's interior the Bible is truly Jesus' words and not Paul;s. it fairly is tough to tell. Regardless, i'm Pagan. There are various Pagan Gods who've comparable memories to Jesus, which makes me think of further and further that Biblical accuracy isn't on the brink of the reality. i might choose to think of that Jesus became a stable guy, if he existed, yet i for my area don't be conscious of. the concepts that he preached are in general borrowed from different religions. i think of that Constantine devised the Bible to be the main convincing administration device to mildew his Empire. That became the main suitable reason for the Council of Nicea any techniques.

No Jesus wasn't a prophet--he was a guru to the Jews--who rejected him---just as Buddha was a guru to the Hindus--who in turn rejected him!!
