There's a nebula award winning novella about someone using a time machine to go the the past and meet jesus. Read Michael Moorcock's "Behold the Man."

Time travel into the past would create a paradox (if you went back we would already know you did and if you knew you had would you still do it?), also not being Christian I'm confused if the bible was written after Jesus died why would it say "if Jesus was killed by a man"?

Actually time travel is possible and it’s called “Special Theory of Relativity”. Which later went from theory to scientific fact. So the solution is that the devil is not as powerful as you think and he doesn’t know how to go through time. And besides, there was no crucifixion, it was all made up by a bunch of wise-guys.

I just looked at Wikipedia's article regarding time travel and the possibilities of traveling to the past. It was a bunch of physics and math stuff... I'm surprised your answer wasn't in there - it makes everything so crystal clear!
