I'm a junior in college and currently looking for opportunities that I can do at home (virtual) or local ones that requires little time. I'm trying to add experience to my resume, and I don't want it to conflict with my paid internship this summer. Does anyone know any organizations that need interns/volunteers on short term basis?

I would recommend that you contact your local volunteer center. They can provide all sorts of one-time or short-term volunteer activities that match your interest and meet real community needs as well.

Through my volunteer center, I work at the food bank, library, children's shelter, parks and recreation, and various other areas. Most projects are about an hour or two, so it doesn't take an excessive amount of time. I typically volunteer when I have time on the weekends and after work when it is convenient.

Check out your local volunteer center through the following links:

The other option is to try the local chapter of the United Way. They also specialize in volunteer placement:

Good luck!

Red Cross would be a good place to start. They have a lot of volunteer opportunities and some require computer skills and things you might be able to do from home.
I wish I knew where in Missouri, I'd be able to narrow the search. Have you looked at these links?

This last one is exclusively about volunteering online:

I think you are grasping for straws and trying to convince yourself despite what you sense in your gut. Obama will, however, win the nomination unless either HIllary pulls off a miracle or Obama pulls a real *****. Obama has not even faced any real opposition in this election yet. He is narrowly winning a race against a woman who is hated by over 1/2 of the country. When he faces up squarely against the Republicans, he better be wearing all his pads and protective gear. They will put him on the defense early and keep him there.
