I know a lot of men who would rather date a red head or a brunette ... there is nothing that says blondes are more desirable at all. A lot has to do with that person's personality, not just the color of her hair. I am a blonde myself and can say that a lot of guys have been apprehensive to dating me because they aren't big fans of blondes. It is all about personal preference.

It depends what you are into. My brother for instance, just doesn't find blondes attractive. (I have no idea!) Some guys like it, some don't.....again prefrence. I was born with blonde hair and had blonde hair until I was about 15-17 and it got darker from then on. I never really noticed a change in the attention I got from guys. Every girl is going to get honked at on the street, approached by a some guy at a bar, get hit on by her college chem lab partner, it just happens. I think blondes also get the bad rap by girls who dye their hair bleach blonde and play it up like they don't know the difference between a fork and a cell phone. If a guy likes blondes and he sees someone who is blonde, he will probably break his neck trying to see if she is pretty, but if she's not, they will just as easily let her pass withotu saying a thing.

I believe that society tends to think blondes are prettier. Here is why:

1. Throughout history, lighter has been considered more desirable. From racism based on skin color, to when women would put acid on their skin to lighten it, darker is associated with savagery and death. This is really unfortunate...

2. Again, throughout history, men have wanted women to be subservient and docile. Lighter skin and hair was ment to symbolize the unspoiled, clean, virginal wife.

3. In America today, the average perosn has brown hair and eyes. Due to the influx of different nationalitites and mixed marriages, blue eyes and blonde hair are on the way out. That which is rare is more desirable.

Considering these, it is easy to see why there is such rivalry betwwn brunettes and blondes. With more brunettes in the world, the blondes are seen with envious eyes. I particularly enjoy being blonde. I keep my hair long to show it off, and more often than not, I get compliments on it. But take it or leave it, I am still me. I just get hit on a little more and beeped at by weirdos on the road.

Pretty comes from facial features not hair colour. There can be really ugly blondes out there too. Haven't you ever been out and seen some blonde from the back and be like yesh! Put on a longer skirt, then she turned around and she's some cougar in her mid 50's with fake and bake skin and wrinkles. EWHHH thats not pretty to me.

On the other hand, britney spears shaved her head, but shes still pretty.

Being as I'm an intelligent red head, I'm the wrong person to ask. The funny thing about men and blonds, is most of the blonds aren't natural, and the men don't seem to notice. To me, a woman that bleaches her hair, is not satisfied with herself.

um...A.I....does that stand for "artificial intelligence"? Because it sure sounds like you're not using any. All blondes aren't dumb, and no a girl or woman isn't neccesarily prettier just because she's blonde. A lot of guys do prefer blondes, but that's only a personal preference. I think if you ask around, you'll find out that there are a lot of other guys out there who are suckers for brunettes, redheads, and any other haircolor. Just depends on the guy.

I feel America has portrayed "blondes" as the ideal look but in reality, they really aren't. It depends on every girl. Blonde is just a trend.
-Fact: blonde hair doesn't shine as much as brunnett or black hair.
-Most people who lighten their hair to blonde is maintenence and it damages hair to the point of breakage/very porous.

-Many blondes don't have thick hair because the lack of pigment in their hair strands.

No, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know lots of men who like brunettes more. I am one and I know my man finds me attractive. Yes, lots of men do like the cute, little blonde but that doesn't mean they are all prettier, there are damn sexy brunettes too.

Blonde hair is a recessive gene, so they are rare. Men like things that are out of the ordinary.
But it is all up to that certain person, my husband hates blondes (or so he tells me =P )
