are airbags required by law?

Looking to buy a used car but the airbags were once deployed and not replaced is that legal?

You are not required by law to replace the air bags.

Legal, but gutsy!! How bad an accident was the car in to deploy both bags??? The legal factor comes in to play at the manufacture level only and there are ways to disable them for your own use.

Do all cars even come with airbags? No! Are these cars legal? Yes!
