Another advantage SAP has over its competetors id the great customer support. It might cost a bit, but they can help get your company up and running and trained very fast.

The major advantage of SAP over their competition is market share.
The only real competitior is Oracle, which is a distant second.
The market share advantage allows SAP to spend more money on each of the 23 vertical markets in which SAP is engaged.
This is the driving force behind the All-in-One inititiave, which is addressing the SMB sector.

New Entrant - Microsoft
though SAP has edge on the market share, one should reliaze that , it is not easy to implement it and the time and effort it takes. SAP is good in several solutions and to certain sectors, while other players like PeopleSoft is good in HRMS sector.
The real competition would start now between SAP and Oracle with thier new products , Netweaver and Fusion..
Any guess who would be the winner...well we have to wait at least 2 more years from now..
