ok well recently a kid from my school died so i've been trying to find this one scripture that say's "Only god can give life and take it away" or sumthing like that and i swear that it is a scripture but i can't find it any where so i'm thinking that it was an lds prophet or apostel that said it once at conference. so if you know where i might be able to find it whether it be bible/book of mormon please tell me cause i'm going crazy not knowing where it is.

In Job there is a verse, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord. This is in the bible. I do not believe the book of mormon to be of God, so I will not point you to it.

The only scripture that comes to mind is the one in Job when his cattle, children and all that he owned was taken from him and he made the statement that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord. May God Bless U.

Are you thinking of Job 1:21?
Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
