One of the easiest cars out there, if you have the right parts. The dash panel around the radio and key switch just pulls off, then the radio is held in with 3 screws. You'll need a mounting kit and antenna adapter. The tricky part is the wiring; the 03 Malibu uses a GM data bus radio which generates all your vehicle's audible warning chimes. Remove it and you'll lose the chimes. Also, the data bus tells the radio when to turn on and off, so there's no accessory power wire in the radio harness like most vehicles.

Your best bet is to get a module that will read the data bus, generate the warning chimes and provide an accessory power output for your after-market radio. These are available through Crutchfield and just about any car audio retailer. They're not absolutely necessary to replace the radio, but they'll make it much easier.

those steroes are natorious for the lazer quitting. Im undecided what it might fee there to have it fixed yet while it replaced into me i eould purchase a aftermarket stereo and sprint kit lot greater low-priced and the generating facility participant will finally do it lower back. you could fid them at salvage yards yet like i suggested you would be happier with a aftermarket stereo. have a sturdy day
