I believe we have gone over the edge with this. With freedom comes responsibility. Do you agree or disagree?

Does it not show a lack of respect for yourself as well as those around you? You love your body, we don't.
Nobody said we had to be restrictive or look like a nun. Just be more gentile and ladylike that's all.

The sense of modesty is lost when their parents first take them to beaches half naked as kids.

I think that every one has the choice to dress how they choose...HOWEVER, there is definitely responsibility that comes along with any choice that we make... I guess only you can choose how you are perceived, and I believe that the way one dresses affects how they are perceived as well as how people respond to and treat them. All I can say is that I am glad that I do not have a daughter, and my son would never make it out of the house dressed as some people dress today. I do believe in self expression, however, I believe more in self respect! Sorry if I ramble... I didn't read your last ? but was interested in where you were going with this.

the human body is not ugly, and some parts of america are really hot. sure I don't like the way some people dress but they usually grow out of it. It should always be their decision. The same thing goes for men, they are usually the ones attracted to the 'non modest attire'

It's called choice. Freedom to wear a burka (sp) or freedom to dress like a skank. Thankfully American is one of those countries that does not make slaves of us. Or force us to cover our hair. Having a vagina does not take away our right to freedom. The answer is no. Woman in this country or ANY country should not have to forcefully become a man's idea of modest.

Depends on what you say by modest. Mini skirts with thongs underneath? Yes. But shorts and tank tops? No. Keep in mind that ways are chanings. 200 years ago a woman wear bloomers were consitered trashy because of the times. So it will only get worse from here.

I don't believe it is as much a freedom than an imposition on women. The problem is most women don't feel that they are powerful...unless she is sexy or wealthy. It is easier for a male laborer to make a decent wage at honest work, than for a young woman. Women only earn 70 cents for every dollar a man earns.

Yes I do. Sometimes I am amazed at some of the things we wear. The Word of God says that we should wear modest apparel. Anytime you can walk out of you home and others can see everything that you 'own', you need to go change. Yes just because you pay for the clothes and you are grown, some of us don't want to see all that. This is one of satan's deception to our women. I try to tell my daughter that a real man will honor and respect you more if you cover yourself instead of showing them everything you got. Honesty is truly the best policy. May God Bless U.

Good question.

Some women show poor judgment and lack of style. Some, especially the young, like to dress provocatively where and when it's not at all appropriate. But I think the average American woman has nothing for which to apologize.

I also believe that men are not so helpless to control their urges as some seem to think we are.

I think it depends on the individual woman. If she wants to be modest, then that's her prerogative, but she shouldn't be forced to. I honestly don't see that many women walking around attired in an immodest way.

No. I'm glad to live in a country where there's a choice. If women want to wear more, the skimpy stuff will stop selling and stop being made. That's how capitalism works. Educate your own daughters to show off their brains, not just their bodies, and don't treat your sister citizens like we're your daughters.

No, I think we should wear whatever we want to wear. Start imposing 'modesty restrictions', and the next thing you know, we're all in burkas. No thanks.

Sure, my kids won't be wearing a lot of the things I see kids wearing these days, because there are perverts out there. But I definetly won't be passing a law.
