I don't think that is the common accepted thought in all churches. In the book of 1Corinthians 7:5, Paul tells married people to abstain from sex only by mutual agreement for a time, to devote to prayer. After which he tells them to come together again, so as not to allow Satan to tempt them. This pretty well tells me that sex was not given only for procreation.

Contraception, I think would be OK as long as conception is prevented. Some believe that using contraceptives is a lack of faith, but I don't see it that way. no more than going to the doctor is a lack of faith. God gave man the intelligence to come up with medical advances, as long as we do not use them for reasons of a sinful nature, I think it is up to the person. You will need to search your own heart, to see what your own feelings on this are. This is one of those gray areas, where your own conscience and God's guidance will have to provide the answer. What is sin for one, may not be sin for you.

First of all you need to marry someone who is of like mind as you are. I mean someone who does not want any kids either. I have never read in the Bible anywhere where it says that contraception is a sin. God did say be fruitful and multiply. But it is all about the individual. Lust, in any form, is a sin. Some people just do not want kids. In that case I say that for all parties concerned, it is best that they don't have any. May God Bless U.

The answer is no... For more information about that sub-question, read this: because at that time when women are having this cycle (menstruation) it's called removing dirt and because that the temple is a clean/holy (holy=perfect) place, women must just stay home and do what they do best. Take care of children and be a good housewife... and may you explain more on the part where you ask "Christian women are not really favored to speak up in Church."

Actually a couple that flat out doesn't want children invalidates their marriage. It is one of the purposes of sex- the main purpose.

Yes, it is sinful to lust after your spouse.

The secondary purpose of sex is to be an act of total self giving to your spouse. If you are lusting after him/her, you are not totally committed to their pleasure because you are focused on what YOU want.

See- the flip side is- if your spouse is totally self donating to YOU, well then you BOTH have a good time!

But that is impossible to trulty achieve if their is lust involved.

Natural Family Planning is the only acceptable form of family planning for Christians. It is very different from artificial contraception. NFP is awareness of the woman's fertility, which has a natural cycle. If the couple chooses not to have sex when she is fertille because they have a legitimate reason to avoid a pregnancy ( financial, or health concerns are examples) that is OK- as long as they would accept a child as a gift from God if He wills it.

Contraception isn't exactly a sin, but it's frowned upon. The only thing that's really a sin is something like a morning-after pill that kills the baby after it's already been conceived. There's something you can do call Natural Family Planning (NFP), though, that's perfectly acceptable. Google it for more info, but here's a basic rundown. I admit that I'm not an expert on it, but the basic idea is that you take your temperature every day and that's supposed to tell you when you're ovulating so you know when not to have sex.

The Roman Catholic church has charts that can be used to find days when an egg is not present. This is called by many catholics, the rhythm and blues method.
The only Christian sect I know of that have sex and no children are the Onans. They use Coitus interruptus which got it's namesake Onan whacked by the Hebrew God.

Are you kidding me?!!!! I'm looking FORWARD to making love to my future husband and NOT having children. Contraception is responsible, not a sin. Yes, sex is for the purpose of procreation, but God also gave it to us as the most intimate form of demonstrating love to our spouse. I expect my future husband to lust after me until we are too old to even think about having sex ;)

I can't speak for all Christian denominations but the Catholic Church teaches us that if we don't want children then we must abstain from sex during a woman's fertile periods of her monthly cycle. This period is very easy to ascertain, any doctor will tell you how.

Your body is yours--if you don't want children take the pill..

The concept you are referring to is in one church that i know about.
What religion are you? what do they say about birth control?

There is nothing in the Bible about having a sex lust with your Husband.

Don't know who you are talking to. While some religious groups do not support birth control. Personally, I do not know of any that say one cannot have sex for the sake of 'loving' one another.
I'm sure there is someone who would preach that sex is ONLY for reproduction. They are wrong. Check out "Song of Solomon" it is very sexual and loving.
