Honey, it's almost eleven o'clock and there's school tomorow. You really ought to be in bed.
As far as your question is concerned, I think you ought to know that nobody is perfect. Having a religion doesn't make a person perfect. It just gives them a foundation to build on.
Look at it this way...if you let a hypocrite get between you and God...it can only mean one thing...the hypocrite is closer to God than you are.
So, have fun....

All people sin sometimes.
People without religion don't claim to want to stop sinning - "I sin, and I think sinning is OK." No hypocrisy there.
When someone "gets a religion", they start wanting to not sin - "I sin sometimes, but I know it's wrong, and try not to." To the casual (or intentionally selective) observer, this is hypocrisy.
If the person is willfully sinning, while claiming "religion", then that is hypocrisy. Don't worry too much about someone like that - all they have is religion, and not Christ. They will find out in the end that they didn't fool Who Counts.

They don't. People can be hypocritical about anything. Including religion. But I don't think that's usually the case; you just notice it when it is. Quiet,law-abiding Christians don't attract attention like millionaire TV Bible-thumpers busted for weird sex or $ scams.

It is true that many people who claim to be Christians are hypocrites, however, you do not need to have a religion to be one. there are many agnostics who act the same way.

We're not perfect even though we know right from wrong. Its the same reason why child psychologists aren't always the best parents. They have the knowledge of child development but as a parent it takes practice, but the imperfection doesn't stop them from knowing what is best.
