Most anti-depressants take 2-4 weeks to build to therapeutic levels. If, after that time frame, you aren't feeling any better (or feeling worse) then see your doctor to try something new. Some people go through 2 or 3 different brands before they find the right one for them.

I tried taking Welbutrin several years ago and it never did anything for me except make me feel sick. Your mileage may vary. As others have said, some people take a few weeks longer to feel an effect, so it may still kick in for you.

What effect are you looking for? To help with depression? To help with an addiction? Sleep aid?

For depression, 2-4 weeks.

For addiction, months.
