anyone using purely sadistic means for the enjoyment of others suffering.
If you have an accidents and kill somebody, does that make you evil?...no
However take the same scenario, and change accident to purposefully killing somebody for ones own gain or enjoyment and does that make you evil...yes.
As for the people we are at war with, opinions are subjective. What one person believes to be evil, may be considered a godsend by another.
Where as the majority of the world believe Hitler to be evil, there was a huge number at the time that believed him to be a savior of sorts. Its all just subject to interpretation I guess.

I would say evil is when someone has no empathy for others and performs cruel acts without any kind of guilt or remorse. This is what we call humanity the ability to look beyond our own gains and feel sorrow and love for others even though it may not be beneficial to us. Selfish people are not evil but people who dont care about others at all or enjoy hurting them in my eyes are evil.

If I'm understanding you correctly, are you trying to say that "true evil" is a matter or perception? And are any of us, since we are not God, in a position to state what true evil is? I'll tell you this, whether you are Atheist, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, etc... the definition of true evil is one who defiles the innocence and purity of a child.

The true meaning of evil to me is the way to death and destruction. It is the antithesis of God's ways. God leads to life, and evil leads to death.

Evil to me is against what God wants. He must eliminate it from His prescence, and not conform or reconcile with it.

The saved people of the world are evil, again, in my reckoning. I am evil, and every human that has lived except for Jesus is evil. Our ways are destructive and lean towards death. We are then temporary, insecure, hopeless, and selfish.

Basically what God did with this evil issue is provide a way out for those that trust Him. That's His criteria for providing a way out of evil. He promises to remove that evil from the human being, so that it will not ever be a part of us.

So evil and all that it does to affect us is doomed to be in a place where God isn't. It separated us from God and He will separate it from us so that we can be with Him again.

And yes, evil is sin.

Intentionally causing unhappiness in others when there are better alternatives.

It's not perfect.

To your point, these moraI questions are often highly subjective. But within a certain context, which is necessary to provide any meaning at all, there are true answers.

My definition of evil is "misunderstood" We are created by our genes and our environments. Evil is created by the human imagination and actually does not exist, however the concept can be helpful to society when people make choices.

That was a good question, and answering it challenges both, the non believers who dont believe in God as the sole creator, and the believers who think that God created evil as well as He created good.
scientifically, all negative aspects in life cant be measured because they simply dont exist!
like darkness, there is no tangible variable called darkness, in fact it's the abscence of light, only light that is positive can be measured, and when there is zero light, then scientists called this state '' darkness''
cold! its the scientific termenology for the abscence of heat!
same thing, evil, it's a term refers to the abscence of good, (zero amount of good), and God created 'good', He didnt create evil, it is thus when ppl dont follow THIS good that God created for them, there is evil, which is simply the lack of good, (good ethics, good manners, good attitude, love, hope, compassion,forgiveness,...etc) when there is a state of zero of those variables, then we give it a term (evil)
