The church isn't the building, it is the people that are part of Christ's body. God Bless!!

Well, as a Wiccan I would say that a church is any place that is purified, consecrated, and designated as sacred space by the participants.

From a Christian POV (and I was Christian at one point), I would say that a church is a building, and a congregation is a group of like-minded worshippers. Therefore, someone's house might be designated as a church-space on particular days, where the congregation (however large or small) gathers to worship.

You can do things to designate between "mundane" and "sacred" space if someone's house is being used for worship. For example, they might have particular candles that they only light on the occasion of worship, or special incense, or a formal declaration that that space is now being used for sacred purposes. A small altar might be set up with a special cloth, candles, incense, Bible, and so on.

Hope this helps. :-)

The Church = The body of Believers (all believers everywhere). No where in the Bible are we told to build a building as a meeting place on Sunday Morning and call it church

The word church has nothing to do with buildings or meetings of any kind. It is the word for God's people. The word church that people use today is kind of an evolution (gasp!) of the word. The word you are looking for is fellowship. That is where the members of the Church meet, and it can be inside or outside.

The Church us the body of all believers that have been saved. The Church is known as the Bride of Christ.

Revelation 21:2 - And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:9 - And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Church is the institution established by Christ as the means of dispensing grace to the world. All baptized Christians are part of the Church, and are called to participate in God's plan of salvation by, at a minimum, passing the Gospel on to those around them.

Church is a group of people gathered for a common belief. it does not have to even be in a building. Not to be racist, but many black churches are held outside under big tents. I wish my church was!

A church is seen as a building. Now a house of God could be in that building or anywhere you want it to be. My home is my house of God!

The term church should not refer to the building.
It refers to the group of people that may be in the building.
If they were on a street corner, the group of people still represent 'the church'.

According to the Bible, the church is the congregation not the building or place at all.
