when others are simply trying to live their lives and be acknowledged as equals? (Examples: same-sex marriage, a mosque being built nearby, etc.)

This blog entry made me laugh and made me think to ask here:

Discuss. :-)

Because their only saving grace is God, Gays & Abortion and with each passing day, they (conservative Christians) are starting to slowly realize that even they are finding it hard to live up to their own standards and rules.

Concervative Christians don't feel oppressed. I should know, I am one. I don't feel oppressed by the sins of others (my sins oppress me, but someone else's don't). Rather I feel so sad for others who are living without hope (living in sin). I want everyone to experience the hope I have in eternal life. It's like having something so wonderful you want to share it with everyone, and then feeling sad when the gift is rejected. This is not a feeling of oppression. It's more like really deep pity.

Conservative? Is that politically conservative, or what? If it is, then I don't feel oppressed, just entertained, at the same time disgusted.

for my section, i'm a great fan of Thessalonians 2, verse 12 -- it is not anti-gay or something like that, yet talks approximately condemning people, so that's cool. This states that those that have faith lies are going to Hell. So... the record of those going to Hell happens to comprise the those that advised me to verify the Bible interior the 1st place. candy, candy irony...

Christians still have the right to speak out about what they feel is wrong. Same as you. Some take it to extremes, but most are just trying to get by as everyone else.

Why are Christians not allowed to speak out about their beliefs - but everyone else is? Christians should be allowed the same freedoms everyone else has - regardless if they agree with your views or not.
