No...history tells us someone else would've discovered it....maybe just at a later date. Darwin published his groundbreaking work when he did because a rival was within months of publishing the same findings. Alexander Bell patented the telephone hours before another inventor tried to patent his. With enough minds experimenting with the same knowledge base....it's just a matter of time.

If someone did not invent it later, which if it was not an actident(and even if it was)would have happend sooner or later,we would have found another way to kill each other.
