I used to be on lexapro and the change was very subtle. I had trouble telling if it was working or not and eventually I stopped taking it. That was months ago.

Recently I started taking celexa and I have been feeling better and accomplishing a lot, however, I wonder if it is really because of the drug since I have only been on it for five days. How do I know if it is the drug or some other factor that is causing the change in me?

Some meds I was on, I didnt notice right away, others at all,
I didnt feel any better,
but if you are noticing a change already, bravo,,,
you have found one that works....

I started Zoloft 2 years ago, and I noticed changes
immediatly, it doesnt happen like that for everyone,
all the time, but it does happen.

Stick with it if it makes you feel better and more productive,,,
best of luck to you,,,,

Who really cares, as long as you're feeling better? Over weeks and months you, those around you (an important source of information on how you're doing) and your doctor can ponder whether you should change the prescription.

Most antidepressants take several weeks to start working. The fact that you are feeling better is a good sign. good luck.
