Here is a brief explanation: The Cosmos erupted in the form of hydrogen atoms from a naked singularity (the Big Bang) and time began; over billions of years, the rest of the chemical elements distilled from hydrogen as the universe cooled and expanded. Galaxies of stars congealed and formed as ithe expansion progressed ( the space/time continuum). At some point, then, the Milky Way Galaxy (ours) formed along, eventually, with our Sun and its Planetary System, with the Earth occupying the ideal site in distance from the sun and being of perfect size so that gravity here is conducive to supporting life. Eventually, the Earth acquired an atmosphere largely composed of nitrogen and oxygen, the keys to life-formation as we know it. Rains fell and oceans formed which ultimately became primordial protein/amino acid soups. From there, the proteins evolved into one-celled organisms (amoebae) and, as, perhaps three or four billion years ensued, those primitive creatures experienced mutations, some of which proved dominant and were, thus, passed from generation to generation so that more and more complex fauna and flora manifested. Animals developed from invertebrates to vertebrates/fish and to more and more complicated trypes such as amphibians, reptiles, birds (and many types which did not perpetuate and so became extinct), finally to mammals and primates. The original primates were neither monkeys nor humans, but were the common ancestors from which both mutated and evolved. There were earlier forms of hominids, Neanderthals and others, whose skeletons have been discovered, before Cro Magnons and the species homo sapiens finally arrived. What I have written is very basic, but you should have a somewhat clearer concept of the process, hopefully, from a capsule "scientific" essay!

Currently, evolution is a measure of the genetic drift over time of individuals in a species. There are essentially two processes at work, and you can generate important discussions among biologists by emphasizing of stream over the other.

1) Evolution is essentially about the changes in heritable traits at the level of DNA. Random mutations occur between generations in any biological population, and they are especially important in heterogeneous species like humans, or apples.

2) Evolution is essentially the work of selection at the level of the individual member of the species. Many random mutations are never expressed and so confer no survival value to the species as a whole. Some are expressed and many of those confer a disability on the individual. Severe enough and that individual dies too early to pass the trait along. Some mutations confer an advantage to the individual, and in some few cases it is passed to the young.

Both mechanisms drive evolution, but their point and purpose do not always coincide.

Evolution is a long term process where living matter, animals and people go through changes to better itself. Man/woman have over the centuries gotten taller and they are living longer. It is proposed that man has made these changes as a result of better food, better hygene and better medical advances.

Darwinism which is named for the man who made the discoveries, proposed that man/woman are desended from apes. That over the millions of years a certain ape species has adapted to their environment, increased their mental abilities and have through time become the ancestor of man, which really bothers the churches, because it clashes with their idea that man was created by God and did not evolve. You can't believe in God if you accept that theory which is why religions wants to keep the science from being taught.

Personally I can believe in both seeing no one can tell who created apes and why couldn't they have developed into man. Man has always needed something more than himself and he invented religion, rather than religion inventing him.

Science says the earth is billions of years old, but creationists say it is only 5 to 6 million years. The extended amount of time would allow for evolution, but the lesser time would make Creationism work. If ya can't accept the truth then we all we be living a lie. A lot of people are going to hate religion when the truth finally can't be denied.

Evolution is a process where changes happen within a species. Animals will produce smaller or larger offspring according to the basic food supplies, as "the survival of the fittest>" For example, if food is scarce the smaller ones will be able to live and reproduce, and their offspring will be smaller. If they have to adapt to water food, as do the penguins, who are birds, they learn to swim. These adaptations take many. many generations to evolve. The theory of evolution is confusing to many people, because they think there is a cross-breeding between species, and that isn't what was the original thesis. Darwin proposed "evolution within the species" and found many changes in groups that were isolated from others of their kind. You might want to look at your parents and at their parents to see if there are height changes, or other differences. For example, I am taller than my mother and she is taller than her mother. This is not a religious conflict, just a misconstruement of facts. Best wishes

It is the scientific theory that states that populations of organisms have changed genetically and behaviorally over time as their environments have changed. That is how new species arise, when they are so different from their ancestors that they can no longer interbreed. Evolution works through natural selection. It is NOT "survival of the fittest" but rather "differential reproductive success." Those organisms that are better fit for their environment tend to leave behind more viable offspring, thus increasing the frequency of favorable traits found within the population. Microevolution is the evolution of populations over a relatively short period of time (years). Macroevolution occurs over centuries and millenia. Evolution combines genetics, paleontology, statistics, ecology, and molecular biology. Changes in populations occur mainly through mutation of the gene pool and through sexual reproduction, which increases the variety of organisms. Populations are constantly changing in the long run. Finally, organisms do not evolve in just one generation. If they evolve, they cannot decide to do it; it happens only though a change in their genes.

Evolution is a theory that was conceived by a man named Charles Darwin. He believed that humans evolved from apes. Instead of humans beginning created by God (the first part of Genesis in the bible. Other wise known as the creation theory). I as a Christian believe his theory to be a complete falsehood. I do believe that every other living thing had a process of evolving into what it is today. But, I would rather believe the word of God that all humans were created in his image not the image of an ape. So, yes I believe the the truth which is the bible.

Yes.

Evolution is a process with the following characteristics:

1) You have some sort of way of encoding the characteristics of an individual. In biological evolution, that is DNA.
2) There are generations of individuals that are created by some combination of parent individuals. In biological evolution, that is the mixing of genes at conception. There might also be some randomness added during replication, which can help pools of individuals to get out of a genetic rut.
3) There is some kind of environment that weeds out individuals that are less capable of surviving. In biological evolution that is just nature. The natural environment and competition with creatures of other species and the same species weeds out characteristics in individuals that are less capable of surviving.

You can also have groups of individuals divide into two separate groups and drift apart genetically to the point where they are different. This happens in biology when animals inhabit different niches in nature. When those animals drift enough that they can't even reproduce if brought back together, we call that speciation. They become two different animals. That's the "macro-evolution" that creationists keep saying doesn't happen, even though we've witnessed it first-hand.

The short version of evolution is "small changes in living organisms over time that can sometimes result in new species".

There are many things that are involved in the theory of evolution. Things like genetic drift, mutation, and natural selection.

Which is why its called a "theory". Its kind of like Musical Theory. Music is not a theory and we all know that. Musical Theory is all studies of music that are part of music (like sound and notes, lyrics, etc).

The Theory of Evolution basically means "the body of factual work pertaining to Evolution".

However, to understand it more in depth, you need to understand the chemistry, biology (including biological systems, and genetics), physics, archaeology, anthropology, and geology.

Evolution is NOT a simple concept and Christians keep asking for simple explanations that they won't understand without a background in science.

Microevolution are changes that result within a species itself. Such as the color of moths changing, or bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics.

Macroevolution deals with the change from one species to another.

Evolution DOES NOT deal with Abiogenesis. Abiogensis is the creation of life itself. Evolution ONLY deals with changes in already living organisms that can sometimes result in new species. Nothing more.

Evolution is CHANGE without INTELLEGENT DESIGN

Random change brought about by random conditions.

A breeder of DOGS is not practising EVOLUTION, they are INTELLEGENTLY DESIGNING DOGS.

Evolution is the course a RIVER TAKES without a DAM

The MOMENT a hand is involved it is no longer EVOLUTION but REVOLUTION

Evolution is a Sunami

Revolution is bombing Hiroshima

Evolution is Nature getting rid of the Panda

Revolution is zoologists trying to keep it alive

Funny, isn't it. People are trying to STOP the teaching of INTELLEGENT DESIGN in schools

But Intellgent DESIGN is trying to stop NATURE for ridding us of the Panda

We FINANANCE intelleget design

Yet we deny teaching it in schools, unless it's HUMAN design

If MAN doesn't back it and do it, it's wrong

Pretty ego-centric

HUMANS are ALLOWED by some strange reason to forcebly KEEP NATURE from making the Panda extinct.

HUMANS are allowed the play GOD but NATURE ISN'T

That's a paradox

People better decide which is right, NATURE or MAN

People better decide who is GOD, GOD or MAN

MAN wants to PLAY GOD

But MAN insists we deny the NATURAL or ENTERNAL GOD

Pretty ego-centric, ain't it!

NATURE (or GOD) has decided the time of the PANDA is over

MAN has decided to beat a dead horse

MAN may lose this fight

MAN vs NATURE or GOD

Evolution is the advancement of a species by adapting to changing environment.

Basically the survivability of a being is threatened because something changed in its environment so it changes over time and generations to increase survivability.
