The King James Version is not a bible dictionary, and does not contain literal meanings of the various personal names of bible characters.
Most (if not all) modern bible dictionaries will confirm that, Yes, the name "Jesus" does indeed mean "Jehovah Is Salvation".
Of course, the names "Jeshua", "Jeshaiah", "Jehoshua", and "Joshua" all mean (identically) "Jehovah Is Salvation".
Additionally, the names "Isaiah" and "Ishi" mean "Salvation of Jehovah". The names "Hoshaiah", "Hosea", and "Hoshea" all mean "Jah has Saved".

(Je′sus) [Lat. form of the Gr. I·e·sous′, which corresponds to the Heb. Ye·shu′a‛ or Yehoh·shu′a‛ and means “Jehovah Is Salvation”].
sorry the king james version is a version and not a translation.
but here is what it says about naming jesus jesus.
LUKE 2:21Â Now when eight days came to the full for circumcising him, his name was also called Jesus, the name called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
22Â Also, when the days for purifying them according to the law of Moses came to the full, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to Jehovah, 23Â just as it is written in Jehovah’s law: “Every male opening a womb must be called holy to Jehovah,” 24Â and to offer sacrifice according to what is said in the law of Jehovah: “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

I do know that Jesus is to mean "Emmanuel," one of the many names that the prophets use when they were fortelling the coming of Jesus. Emmanuel is to mean "God is with Us" but I also think that it means Jehovah's Salvation. My dad also told me that Joseph is a name very similar to Jesus though I can't be very confident in it. Many baby naming websites say that it means God will Help us.

It doesn't "mean" anything. It's just a name. It was probably originally Jeshua, depends on the translation. You're thinking of "Christ" which is Greek for "The Annointed". Some people speculate about the fact that Christ and Krishna have the same root (Christos). What's with the King Jimmy? It's considered badly dated; we have far superior translations today.

the angel said 'you shall call his name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins'
Jesus and Joshua are basically the same name and mean God saves or God is salvation
