If this is her first heat she should not be breed!!! It can cause harm to her body being that young---Females should be at least 2 before they are breed which usually means their 3-4th heat!--Please dont breed her so young you can do more damage than it is worth!

First, I hope you are planning a well thought out breed program, with a mentor if this is your first time, I volunteer at a rescue and there are SO MANY unwanted puppies killed at other shelters and animal control DAILY, the "need to breed" for mixed pups on purpose is scary! Second, your female will only "receive" a male when she's ready, you can't force it, nature is in charge on this one, and hopefully they've had their tests and boosters, after the fact is too late and you'll lose pups either via stillborn, or fading puppy syndrome, very hard to witness. There is a lot involved with breeding, a quality breeder will have many health certifications done on the pair, most even do DNA now besides the standard hips/eyes/sizing/etc. Just note is can get VERY costly very quick with just one c-section, and you will not recoup the money ever. Just an FYI, males don't go into "heat" only females, males are always in the mood with a receptive female.

Odds are she isn't quite ready yet. Heat is a gradual process. Fertility peaks at 14 days after she started bleeding. She will start being somewhat interested around 10 days after. It sounds to me that she is in that time frame, so hurrying up isn't going to help - she might not be ready yet. If you know what date she started bleeding, you need to make sure they do it around the 14 day mark. You might need to hold her still if she isn't anymore interested when that day comes. First timers don't always know what they are doing.
But I would be careful.... any of your male dogs could do the job if they have not been neutered. Male dogs don't go into heat - they are always ready once they are 6-9 months old. If you need that male to be the father, make sure you keep the female securely locked away from the other two. (again, if they are not neutered.)
PLEASE also tell me your female is at least 18 months old. Breeding a dog any younger is like letting a 12 year old human have a baby. It isn't good for them.

Oh my gosh, just get them fixed! Questions like this make my stomach turn. If you are asking questions as basic as this (on Yahoo! Answers of all places), and if you are risking getting such a young female pregnant (letting your puppy have puppies is like someone forcing their 11-year-old daughter to have a baby), you should NOT. BE. BREEDING. Why do people think that just because they have a dog, they can breed? Unless you know 100% what you are doing, have had all of your dogs tested for genetic diseases, and they perfectly fit the very specific breed standard, you should never breed your animals!
Have the females spayed and the male neutered. I don’t think you realize how much harm you could be doing these poor dogs by doing anything else. Just type "benefits of spaying" and "benefits of neutering" into any search engine and prepare yourself for a shock.

Female dogs come in heat, males don't. Males can breed anytime. If your female is truly ready, she will "stand" for the male to mount her. You shouldn't have to hold her. If you try to hold her and she's not ready, you could cause her and the male to be injured, not to mention getting yourself bitten. Just let nature take its course. The dogs know what to do!
I wouldn't breed a dog in her first heat on purpose. It's best til they have their second heat. Also keep in mind that if she's truly in heat, she will probably accept all willing male dogs. And there's the possibility that her litter may have more than one father.
If you plan on continuing to breed your female later, I'd have at least two of the males neutered. With a 3:1 male/female ratio, the poor girl is gonna stay preggers most of her life! You can also put her on birth control.

First off, I am not going to tell you to get your dogs spayed or neutered. It's obvious that you decided not to do so, for your own reasons. I respect that. I have 5 adult dogs and a puppy.
The adults I breed carefully and have 1 - 2 litters of pups a
year. The puppies I sell (or sometimes give to people whom other breeders or shelters have turned down. Usually because they are low income, in the military, have children, or do not have a fenced yard.) Low income people, military personell, people with young children, and people who do not have a fenced yard do not automaticly make bad pet owners.
In fact, the puppies I have placed in these situations are
very happy, heathy, spoiled rotten pets.
Info...Male dogs do not have a heat cycle. They are ready at 6-9 months of age, usually. Females can get first heat at age 6 months to one year. It's is seriously a very bad idea to let a female younger than age 2 years mate. There usually is some serious complications with the pregnancy. C sections due to trapped puppies in the birth canal are very common.
This operation must be done by a vet to save the mother dogs life. Sometimes the babies can be saved, but mostly they can't. Cost of c-section varies, average is about $1200.00 around here.
If you feel you can't afford that, it's best not to let her mate, now. If she already has and is pregnant (take her to vet in a month for check up to find out), you won't b able to escape vet bills.
If you want to mate her, now, anyway. Here is what to do.
Get rolled gauze bandaging, if she has long tail hair. Roll
gauze all up and down and around her tail. Tie snugly.
Have someone hold her firmly.
Hold he tail over her back out of the way. Apply a small
amount of KY Jelly for humans to her vulva area.
Have someone else bring in the male on a leash. Lead him over to female and let him sniff around. More than likely,
he'll mount her. If not, wait and try again in a few hours.
During mating, the female will yip, bark, shake, sometimes try to bite, and even try to get away. The person holding her firmly still will have to be very strong if she is a large dog.
Once the male is inside her, they both can be seriously injured if she pulls them apart too quickly.
The male will finish his business on his own and disconnect when it is over.
After mating, SLOWLY walk the female for an hour. Watch for signs of increased vaginal bleeding. Lots of bright red blood
= emergency trip to vet due to internal vaginal tearing.
Watch her closely over next couple of days after mating.
Yellowish vaginal dishcharge that smells bad = Call vet and get appointment. Possible vaginal infection. Greenish vaginal dishcharge with or without smell = VET EMERGENCY really bad infection.
After mating, get prenatal dog vitamins and start giving them to her until you find out if she is pregnant. If she is continue the vitamins.

If its her first heat then she is too young to have pups of her own. What is she 6-8 months? Do the right thing and spay your dog when her heat is over! Do you know how many dogs are out there that need adoption or are unwanted? Why are you making her do that? Keep the males away from her! Please

You work for Vets & spay clinics and you think male dogs go in heat. Dogs have been breeding for years without anyone holding them. If she doesn't accept him, then it's not meant to be. Just get them all fixed.

she can get pregnant without locking. make sure she is full grown before breeding from her, 1 1/2 years old is better then first heat. she may not be fully in season so don't force her.

If you think a male dog is in heat, you need to have your brain checked and should not be breeding. Only FEMALES go into heat.
