In the name of God Crusaders murdered Jews in European ghettos in order to have money for transportation. The Germans guarding Jews, Poles, Priests, gypsies and many others in termination camps had "Gott Mitt Uns" on their belt buckles.

There is no killing acceptable to the Christian God and many others. It is a politically correct decision on the part of Church Hierarchies to spread the false word that to "kill in the name of god" is not a mortal sin.

There is no such thing as a "just war" to the best of my knowledge.

If you were an adulterer and I said "In the name of God DIE" and killed you, I probably would have committed a mortal sin.

Still, its best not to judge people's souls.

There are times when it is ok to kill. I am talking about a war situation, especially when you are defending your own right to live and your freedom, and the lives of those important to you. In this case it is not a sin to kill. Even in the Bible God commanded the nation of Israel to go to war many times, it's how they inherited the promised land!

However, just going up to someone and killing them in the name of the Lord. That is not ok. We can't just go around killing people, especially in God's name, just because WE THINK they are an abomination to God.
For one thing, we would be depriving them of any future of repentance, second it would only be ok if God actually told you to. Give that some thought ok :)

Probably not because in the bible God told someone to kill his son and he was going to do it but God told him to stop. If the person said that God told them then it would not be mortal sin.

Personally, I think it is still a sin, a wrong doing. Who are you to kill others when the person who give birth to you are not allowed to kill you too? Who is the imaginary master to order you to do so?

The Commandment not to murder involves the killing of an innocent person. Laying in wait for them and then murdering them. There is no such thing as a mortal sin that is an invention of the Catholic church. The only unforgivable sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ as your savior.

No one can really know anything about someone else's relationship with God. Therefore, no one can say one way or the other that God has or has not told them to do. Judging someone else like that is pretty arrogant.
