Based on the need to belong to a group?

It used to be, until I realized how critical and judgmental folks can be! I attended a few Christian churches on and off for fifteen years. I was sadly disappointed when each church seemed to spew forth folks who enjoyed nothing better than sitting back and judging others.

Then the more I learned about the Bible god, the more I realized that the whole Christianity thing seemed like an oxymoron gone wrong. So, I set out on my own journey to see what life was really all about.

I have very few friends and I am happy. My Creator is kind, gentle, and loves all humanity, there is no heaven or hell, but a spiritual realm where all are happy and received unconditionally. When I pray or sing a love song to my Creator, I am alone, at peace, and secure. Great question! Have a beautiful forever! Annie

Not really. I do belong to a number of different groups, but often find myself differing in opinion from others in the group. If I were obsessed about staying in the group above all things, I'd squelch all independent thought, which is not something I'm ready to do.

Though I've attracted a few like-minded friends, my being a polytheist makes me different from most people. Even my way of being a polytheist is different from most neo-Pagans. So, no, it's not. Sometimes I worry that I'm so open-minded, I'll never have a group I can completely settle in with (this is because of other things besides religion--read my profile to see what I mean.)

As a buddhist i tend to spend a long time sitting on the floor, with my eyes closed, talking to no one so i don't think so.
I think joining Yahoo answers stems from some need to belong to a group though :)

Well, interesting... Since God created us, and the purpose of that being to be in relationship with him, Yes, I need to belong to a group called the human race who God created.

NO.

I believe that all religions are false as I do not believe that mankind is capable of doing anything that is not designed to control others.

All peoples seem to have their own type of God...transperant.

No God has personally come up to me and proved his, her, it's existence. It would be impossible for he, her, it to do so anyway...If I believed that Satan could have equal powers than how would I know what to believe.

Belonging to a group? I care less. I find group behavior as being flawed in that most who are in the group have zero control of themselves. They are all controlling each other or being controlled.

I actually avoid groups concerning ideology. Because I want it to be mine.

People (myself included!) are social. I'd have to say yes.

Edit: interesting, I'm the only one with a trivial "yes" and the only one with a thumbs down. Should I surmise that there is a single correct answer and that that correct answer is "no"? Seems like a pretty big herd on that side of the fence to call everybody free thinking.

My ideology is of my own making with myself as the only follower.

Why would I want to belong to a group of crazy humans?
