No offense to the religous, but I figured they'd be more likely to incidently make anti-homosexual comments to impressionable children. Someone asked why I asked the question here.
BUT it was also the 'suggested category' when I typed the question up. I might ask the same question elsewhere,if you think this was the wrong cateogyr.

@shadowsonic2004 - Thanks,I think you're right. :-) But I still like the answers here, since most people are saying they encourage children to be tolerant.

I certainly don't make comments to encourage the abuse of anyone. However we live in a world where it is, common to see various groups mocked in the mainstream media and within the youth culture. I don't think this correctly incites violence, but it does encourage intolerance and misunderstanding. By not saying anything publicly in a indirect way I guess I am encouraging the practice.

I certainly hope not! Even though you might view something (like homosexuality) as a sin, that doesn't give you the right to be physically or verbally abusive to those who doesn't share that viewpoint. After all, there might be those out there who think that things you believe are a sin, and to be absusive towards those who do what you consider a sin would give others the right to be abusive to you.

You're question isn't getting the audience it should, it's more of an parent question, most of these answerers are probably teens young 20s themselves. Most parents do encourage it though by simply letting their children watch movies/tv shows that have certain graphics and language that they are not mature enough for. It's basically a lack of parenting issue.

Is this a question for Christians who explain that Homosexuality is a sin? Otherwise, I don't understand why it's in the Religion category. Unless it's a matter of self-defense and saving your own life, no one should ever encourage anyone to harm another because they don't agree with their lifestyle.

No, I would never do that. I speak up about things like that. Kids at my school are quite ignorant, about race, sexual orientation, whatever. A lot of kids are afraid of speaking up against the taunts. SO I think peers really influence other kids opinions about stuff like this than adults. At my age, not little kids.

Never have never will. I have taught my son to be tolerant of all people. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We are all God's children whether we like it or believe it or not. Just as our earthly parents would not want us to abuse our siblings, neither does God.

Children are getting the idea from SOMEPLACE. Chances are it's mostly from other children and those children are getting it from parents and other adults in their lives.
Abuse is like a virus.

No I would never encourage anyone to EVER to abuse homosexuals in any way. I think it's really creative to be unique and listen to your feelings.

the only thing i taught to my daughter is,
take it as it is. every one has a right. it is not our place to Judge any one. we might not like what we see, or hear.
we also have the right to give our opinion,
but under no circumstance never ever shove your ideas or opinion's to some ones trout.
One way or another we all will answer

Absoloutely not. If I'm in a position to speak with young people, I advocate tolerance and respect.
