I thought I'd give you the serious answer your question deserves. Visit the three websites below to get you started. To learn any language depends on many things:
1) the amount of time and effort you are willing to put into it;
2) your reason for learning; and
3) which languages you already know.
Learning little and often is better than a lot and infrequently. I would suggest that in addition to the sites below you buy some basic grammar and vocabulary course (you could get it secondhand). As you are going to live in one of the countries in which it is spoken, that will accelerate your learning considerably. Speak as much and and often as you can, to anybody who is a native speaker. If you know Spanish already that will help a lot vocabulary wise, but bear in mind that the pronunciation system is unique and not that easy to pick up. I wish you the best of luck.

Not sure about Portugese but I know that there are podcasts you can download for free on itunes etc. Theres a really good one called coffee break Spanish so maybe there is one for teaching ppl Portugese. I worked in the Algarve a few yrs ago and found the language quite hard to learn, but I was only 19 at the time. I am finding learning Spanish alot easier

Good Luck

Personally, I think Portuguese is a nicer language...and I go to Portugal on holiday and I've learned the language so that I can converse with the locals in their own language...I don't expect them to speak Welsh. Vou em férias a Portugal e gosto falar com os nativos em português.
